I've heard that too Sanchez. I don't think he should or is ready too though. Losing to St. Pierre is not something he won't come back from. That was a tough first fight back for him but I think he will come back stronger and better in his next fight. No one could have survived a pummelling like St. Pierre delivers. He just makes it look too easy and Sherk shouldn't be cast into oblivion by the fans or Zuffa for that.

Well said, I thought the same thing, he's been away for a while, and coming back after a long break and fighting someone like GSP is crazy. I hope he stays around.

A smaller promotion. Don't think he should retire after loosing to GSP. But he has a good chance of being champ in some smaller promotions or he could be a good undercard guy in the UFC for awhile.

I really enjoy watching him fight. He has good hands it is just a shame that he has such a short reach. I hope he sticks around the UFC for awhile.

Am I the only one that wants to see a Sean Sherk vs. Matt Serra fight? I think those two match up really well and are always exciting when they fight. I would love to see it, but I might be the only one. :/
He lasted longer with GSP than a lot of guys do. I think he still has a lot to offer, and I think he should continue to fight in the UFC for a year or so to see if has it in him. I'm definitely not juding him off his loss to GSP. I have to see him fight one more time before I count him out.

Serra and Sherk would be a good fight. I wouldn't mind seeing it. My money would be on Sherk.

Sherk's biggest problem with mma is the money that he gets paid. After losing to GSP I don't see him getting a raise and I read somewhere that if he doesn't get the money he "deserves" that he'll just go back to being a 9-5er. It's unfortunate because he is a good fighter but I think he made a big mistake by signing on for GSP his first fight back after such a long absence.

People say he had a long absense. He had a long absense from the UFC. His last fight before Georges was against Joel Blanton on September 17th, 2005. He wasn't coming back after like a year layoff. He was very active before UFC 56.

I didn't realize he fought this year but I checked Sherdog and his fight before that one was nearly a year ago. Since I didn't know he fought in September I figured it was a long absence from mma.

They were saying something like he took 9 months off in an interview I saw one of the websites. Maybe before his last fight in September, idunno. But I definately remember hearing that he took almost a year off.
