Nate Marquardt would like to fight Dan Henderson

I actuallythink Nate is better on his feet than Hendo even though Hendo has tremendous KO power. We also know Nate BJJ BB so I think it would be interested to see him on his back.

I agree here to a certain extent. Hendo certainly has power in his right hand, which is well known and avoided by smart fighters. Nate has definitely improved on standup, but I don't know that he's any more effective than Hendo.

I'd give advantage in the clinch to Hendo for sure, but the ground I'd probably give to Nate. However, I honestly don't think this is going to the ground. I think both of these guys are going to want to bang.

It should be a great fight.

Marquardt vs. Henderson would be a fight I'd like to see. I just don't see Marquardt being able to do anything to Hendo though. Henderson is definitely better on the feet with better knockout power, and he could control Marquardt on the ground with some GnP. It might go a couple rounds, but I just couldn't see Marquardt winning. If he did, however, it would be a great boost for his career.

I also agree that Bisping couldn't beat either. I'm surprised he hasn't at least fought someone halfway decent in the MW division. Give him someone better than Chris Leben please.

oh yeah, that could present a problem.

o'ive got me doubts ;)

I have difficulty seeing Count Judge-In-My-Pockets stopping Chris with hands, a sub, maybe, just on the verge of possibility. Any decision will go to Mike though, we already know that much is a done deal. Chris MUST get the stoppage or he will surely lose any decision in Merry Old Anglund. ;)

Nate vs. Hendo would be fun. Sign me up for that one.

Won't that be a hard sell after Leben drops Bisping for the count?:p

I like how Nate said was working on a few specific things for the Kampmann fight and it paid off...hell yeah...very impressive!

The thread title matchups sense as it related to the set up to TUF 9 that Sam Caplan was speculating about...

Winner of Nate/Dan v. The Count

Who or what has Bisping really beat or done to be even mentioned in the same article as top fighters like Marquardt and Hendo??

I seriously don't get this Bisping hype, he's great against fighters who are obviously worse than him, but come on, who isn't? I'd be really intrigued to see what would happen in a Marquart/Henderson matchup, lately I haven't been as impressed with Dangerous Dan, and Nate has been on a serious tear being that (imo of course) he's the #2 middleweight and bent on proving he's #1

It's Marquardt saying it so he must have done something, but I see what you mean.

I'm a big Bisping fan myself but I feel the UFC are trying to make him look better than he actually is, so they appear to have a British fighter on par with the best Americans and while that's good for the UFC, I think it's going to hurt Bisping in the long run.

Well, in this instance, he's being mentioned because an upcoming TUF will be the UK vs US. It makes sense that the UK team will be coached by a UK fighter and clearly Bisping is the biggest UK fighter in MMA.

Hendo/Marquardt certainly shouldnt be fighting for the "right" to fight Bisping, though I would certainly be excited for any combination of the three. Here's hoping rumors of Bisping/Hendo coaching TUF 9 prove true so all the titles get left alone for a while.

Oh, and I have never been so sure of two main events in my life as I was of 86 & 88. I though Forrest was WAY out of his league, and I thought Rashad was being fed to Chuck, like every other wrestler before him. Needless to say I ended up quite embarrassed, and a few bucks lighter. So I refuse to count Cote out.

I'm going to put money on Cote knocking Silva out in the 1st round. I have a feeling.

Everything about me wants to call you crazy but I have kinda thinking about that as well and have some what of a feeling about this fight as well. Would I bet points/money? Hell no but I just realize that when everybody stops looking for a certain guy to lose.....BAM!!!! he gets beat by someone who has no buisness beating him and Cote fits that bill perfectly; match-up wise this is Leben/Siva2.....

Do I think Cote will be the one to derail the Silva train? Hell no. Points are on Silva. Period. No brainer.

Well, I am betting with my heart on this one. Silva is great, but I will be putting a patriotic bet on Cote. Especuially at 5/1 odds.

And to stick with the thread, I will be betting on Hendo vs Nate. Although I think it will be an awesome scrap.

I would really like to see this fight.

However if the winner of this fight were to fight Bisping, I think they would both beat him without too much trouble at this point.

Yeah the winner shouldn't fight Bisping, that would be a clear step down for the winner imo. I wouldn't mind if the winner get another shot against Anderson. Perhaps after Okami gets a crack, but I don't know how his doing with his injury.

Scarecrow

I'd put Irvin on the same level as Cote. Cote may have a strong chin, but you can't say that Leben and Franklin are any worse and look at what happened to them. Betting against Silva in this fight will be a waste of money. Betting for him won't earn you squat, but whatever.

I agree, a good chin won't help you against Anderson. It's better than a weak chin ldo, but if Anderson connects you're going down no matter how good chin you have. He's proven he can KO anyone in matters of seconds. A good chin is only a small part of the toolbox you'll need to beat him.

kermit

Well, Cote is getting odds of 5/1.

Anderson Silva is going to lose sometime.

I think betting on Cote at 5/1 is a waste of money. On the flip side I'd take 1/5 on Silva, but then again I think there's better spots than that as well.

I owe almost everything I have right now to Twigz. He was generous enough to make a charitable donation to the cause. But yea, I did win on Shafer. I just wish I could have bet more. 5/2 odds are just too hard to pass up.

Eh, you probably have some cash to gamble with after Schafer ;)
