The most interesting fight that hasn't happened yet?
Was sitting here trying to think of some cool matchups of fights in the UFC that for some reason haven't occured yet. A few I can think of are...
Babalu vs. Randy - For some reason these two have yet to fight. Could be an interesting matchup and closer than some people might think. Babalu survived three rounds with Fedor so it would be interesting to see if he could stand up to Randy's dirty boxing and GNP.
Franklin vs Loiseau - It's early in Franklins career and it's no suprise that there is a lot of people he hasn't fought, but this could be an entertaining fight. It's supposed to happen at 57 or 58 so we can all look forward to that.
Penn vs Sanchez / Penn vs St Pierre - Since BJ just came back it's easy to understand why these fights haven't happened yet, but they would both make for interesting matchups. I think BJ would submit Sanchez, but would probably get beat by GSP. I'd love to see both matchups.
Mayhem vs Leban - Since Jason now has a deal with ICON we won't see this any time soon but would make for an entertaining brawl for sure. Mayhem would take this one but man would there be some fists thrown in that one. Might also be interesting to see Mayhem vs Sanchez or Penn.
Buentello vs Silvia - Could be an interesting slugfest. Buentello showed that his chin might be suspect and everyone is down on Tim Sylvia. But a slugfest none the least.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on those matchups and what matchups would you like to see yourself?

How can you forget Mir v. Arlovski!!!
Joe Stevenson v. Diego Sanchez (I know one would need to move weight classes) great battle between TUF Winners
Oh yeah:
Forrest v. Rashad could be entertaining.

Diego moved down to 170 after the show so he is in the same class as Joe.

I think Diego and Joe would be a great fight they have similar styles so I think it would be a great matchup

similar styles as in they both cant finish good opponents? I mean yeah they both can wrestle theyre asses off, and take guys down. But as shown in TUF 2 finals, neither could finish a good opponent when they had the chance. Sorry had to sprinkle some hate in the post

HAHAH! Well they both have decent g n p and similar stand up skills so even if they can't finish anyone. Against each other they would either have an even stand up war or a great ground fight.

As much as I dislike Diego, I think he'd probably kick Joe's arse. TUF2 definately talked up Joe and I thought he was supposed to be really tough, but so far from what' I've seen he's been a major disappointment.
Yeah I did forget Mir vs AA. But I think AA will probably dominate unless the UFC gives Frank 2 or 3 warm up fights to get ready for AA. Then by that time it will be 2007 and AA will be fighting in Pride

Watch some of Joe's old fights. He is going to be top ten at least. He was injured before the TUF finale and I think he took Luke too lightly. I think Diego would be the favorite in the fight but if Joe could get on top then he would have his hand raised in the end.

I definitely don't think Joe Stevenson is in Diego's class right now. But like Unknown said, Joe was hurt before the TUF2 finale, so we didn't see the 100% healthy Joe Stevenson in that fight.
I would pick Diego all day long though. He showed me a lot of skill against Diaz, and I don't think Joe Stevenson could hang with Diaz.

I think Joe Stevenson will be Diego's first loss.

It's possable. If Joe gets you on your back you have got problems, and unlike some people he dosn't punch the floor very often. But as for getting Diego on his back, I don't know. Koscheck did. But I don't think Joe is as good a wrestler as Kos.

That is a good point but I think he could do it. Joe has some sick BJJ skills I can't wait for him to fight again.

Also, didnt Joe come up in weight for TUF?? I thought he fought around 155 in KOTC. Since UFC does not have that weight class anymore, which I think is a mistake, Stevenson will have to fight at 170. I think he is a good fighter, along the line of a poor man's Couture if you ask me. Good wrestler, gnp, etc. but doesnt do anything flashy to finsih off his opponent. I think he would be dominant at 155, but against the better fighter in 170 like Hughes, St Pierre, Penn, etc. I think he will get killed.

I don't think that Joe will be making 155 again anytime soon. He got ragged on by dana for weighing 190lbs at the start of the show. 170 is his best class right now.

Arona vs. Randy
Two of the best control fighters in the sport. Some people might call it a boring wrestling match but I think it would be awesome. Anyone who thinks that Arona wouldn't stand a chance let's not forget that Ricardo gave Fedor his toughest fight of anyone.

I would like to see that Jonny. My money would still be on Randy, but I don't think it would be an easy fight for him.
