Mayhem Miller Arested
Here is the entire article from the KNHL-TV (NBC)& WB/K5 television station in Honolulu, Hawaii...
"25-year old fighter Jason Miller - known as "Mayhem" - was arrested Friday afternoon. He turned himself into the Kalihi Police Station following an incident that occurred at 6:15 am.
Miller was transported to the Honolulu Police Department's main station around 7:00 pm. KHNL News 8 is still learning details of his arrest.
But we do know that Miller was arrested for burglary in the first degree and assault in the third-degree.
Miller is a mixed-martial arts fighter with Icon Sport - formerly known as Superbrawl. His latest victory was in October.
He defeated Falaniko Vitale at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
His next fight is scheduled for February 11, 2006 against Robbie Lawler.
No word yet from the promoter if that fight is still on.
Miller was scheduled to have a seminar on Saturday.
Martial arts fighter arrested in Nu'uanu burglary, assault
UPDATE: THE FOLLOWING APPERARED IN THE HAWAII ADVERTISER SATURDAY MORNING
By Curtis Lum
Advertiser Staff Writer
A 24-year-old mixed martial arts fighter was arrested yesterday in connection with a burglary and assault in Nu'uanu.
Jason "Mayhem" Miller was booked on one count of burglary and one count of assault. He was being held in a police cellblock last night pending charges.
Miller, who lives in Las Vegas, was arrested after a woman said a man, identified by police as Miller, broke into her Nu'uanu Avenue home at 6 a.m. yesterday. The woman, Miller's ex-girlfriend, said her new boyfriend was assaulted by the intruder.
Police were called, but the intruder fled. Yesterday afternoon, Miller turned himself in.
In October, Miller defeated Hawai'i's Falaniko Vitale before a crowd of about 7,000 at the Neal Blaisdell Center. He is scheduled to fight "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler for the Icon Sport middleweight championship here in February.
But that workshop has been cancelled.

You've got to be kidding me Mayhem is one of the most entertaining fighters in MMA. If the story is true then that really sucks. I wonder if there is more to it than what was reported? Why would he break into his old girlfriends house to steal something? You don't normally think of our MMA hero's as people that would steal and commit cromes like that.

In Hawaii, Burglary in the first degree is entering a dwelling without permission from the owners/residence, and third degree assault is touching someone in a threatening manner.

They seem to be making it sound much worse than it is, that's why they are not giving as many details.

Yeah I agree, I would think that they are going to try to make it seam worse than it is because he is an MMA fighter. It sucks that Mayhem could spend some time in jail. By the way, How is Ryan Gracie anyway?

When I saw the headline, I thought for sure it was for drugs. Miller just gives me that vibe as a major addict.

While I do think this sucks and I'm not defending Jason at all. I'm just saying we don't know exactly what happened here. It sounds like it's blown out of proportion. By "burglary" that could mean he went into his ex-gf's house without here wanting him to come in. He could have even had a key to her house but if she or the current bf called the police they could report him as breaking into the house. And the assault is inexcusable but he was wasted and that kind of stuff happens all the time. It just makes him seem even worse because he is a fighter.

Fighters are people too. They make mistakes just like everyone else. All we see of peoples lives are what's in the news or on TV. We tend to forget that Police, Boxers, MMA fighters, stars, Priest, Doctors, etc. are all people who we only see doing thier jobs.

I think that just because their is an assult charge and he is a figher the media is making it bigger than it should be. If this was more than a push or something like that I have a strong feeling that he would have been charged with elevated or elevated agravated assult.

Mayhem was very drunk, off his meds, broke into his ex-girls house, but heres the kicker. He got held down by the boyfriend, Miller was too drunk too kick his arse. I guess the other guy trains MMA, is a purple belt in BJJ and bigger than Jason. He held him down, and was trying to talk Jason down, then they called the cops, then Jason ran. Shouldn't be in that big of trouble, they are going to work he is a crazy MoFo, who was off his meds and drunk. He called TJ (Promoter of Icon) and seemed really scared, and sorry. We'll see what happens.
I hope this doesn't cause him to lose his contract.

T. Jay was on Beatdown today. I also listened to his radio show today and he basically said all that.

Just go to Sherdog and download Beatdown. It should be on the front page. I think T. Jay is the first guest they talk to it's not too far into the program. It's actually a pretty good show altogether. But the Icon Sport show is streamed so there is no link to it and they don't have a new website yet. It's in the works.
