Nick Diaz vs. Joe Riggs at UFC 57!!!
I've become more interested in 57 now. This is going to be a hell of a fight. I am rooting for Nick of course. I hate to see Joe lose two in a row because I like him too but he doesn't need to be fighting in 170. I'm sure he will cut weight properly this time but he should stay at 185. Whether you like either of these two guys or not this will be a great fight for sure.

Well if Riggs cuts properly this could be a good one. I wonder if Diaz will try to bring it to the ground or keep it standing.

You're right Jonny, I think this'll be a quality fight. Its bound to be a slugfest.
Think I'll be rooting for Diaz in this one, as Id like to see him come back from his loss to Sanchez (which is finally being shown in the UK tonight!), although I do like Riggs too. Either way itll be entertaining.

This is an interesting fight indeed. Two fighters coming off disappointing loses. And two fighters that have cocky attitudes. I have to wonder about Joe Riggs though. His psyche was destroyed during and after that Hughes fight and I'm wondering what it will take for him to get back on track. I think Joe Riggs is in a dangerous situation with the UFC. I just don't see him getting another chance if he loses to Nick.
I also agree that Joe has no business trying to fight at 170. He is much more suited to fighting at 185. Sometimes I wonder about the guys logic.
With that being said this could potentially be one hell of a fight. We all know that Joe has a ton of punching power and Nick has shown that he has a strong chin. Nicks biggest weakness in my eyes is the fact that his takedown defense looked terrible against Diego. Nick is good on the ground but he won't be effective if he fights out of the bottom guard all night.

I'll preface this by saying that his fight with Hughes was the first time I've seen Riggs, but he did nothing to make me want to see him again. Was it a case of being outclassed, or the weight issue? 'cause I wasn't impressed at all. Somebody help me out here....what has he done?

this card just keeps getting better I think this will be a good fight I think nick could win the stand up if Riggs don't get a huge hit in oon him I don't think Riggs can handle Nick on the ground I think he will gas out at this weight but he still has a punchers chance

Remember Nick knocked out Robby Lawler who is a puncher just like Riggs.

This fight definitely makes UFC57 look a little better to me. I wasn't all that excited about it, but Riggs. vs. Diaz helps a lot.
The fight probably won't last past the 2nd round, if it even goes that long. I just don't see Riggs being able to defeat Diaz in this fight. I'm predicting a 2nd round submission from Diaz.
I think they will slug it out in the 1st round, and Diaz may even get caught with a heavy punch from Riggs. That will motivate him to take it to the ground in the 2nd round, and I don't think Riggs can stop Diaz' takedown.
Either way, I think Diaz will sub Riggs, either from the bottom or top.
I hope it's a good fight though. It could be the best of the night when it's all said and done. I hope to see Diaz get back on a roll and work up to a rematch with Diego Sanchez. If you don't want to see a Diaz/Sanchez rematch, you are crazy.

This is definitely going to be a good fight. I hate to see either guy lose. Maybe we'll get lucky and we'll get one of those 'Bonner vs. Griffin' type fights that goes the distance with both guys totally spent.

They both need a serious win! Who ever wants it the most will have to fight hard to take it... Riggs needs to prove himself. Diaz needs to shake off the loss to Sanchez. I think that I want Riggs to win.

I want Diaz not only because I like him but he has more of a future in 170 than Riggs does. If Riggs gets beat by the Champ and a top 10 guy in 170, maybe he'll go back to 185 where I like to see him fight.

Nah, Robbie Lawler and Riggs are different types of strikers. Robbie is more of a technical striker, while Riggs tends to use his strength more in a punch and he is a little wild. He is also Diaz’s height, and one of the biggest reasons that Diaz was able to out strike Robbie was because of his height. If Diaz tries to fight Riggs the same way he did against Lawler I don’t see him winning.
Also according to Miletich Riggs is one of the hardest guys to keep on his back so it will be interesting to see how well Diaz is in that department if he gets a takedown.

Should be an intersting fight. I'm thinking Diaz on this one. Riggs is heavy handed but that's all, IMO. I'm just baffled at how the guy has dropped from 300lbs and is now cutting to make 170. It just doesn't seem like the body can take that no matter how good he looks on the exterior. 185 might better suit Riggs but that's still a lot of weight. Regardless it will be a good fight and I see Diaz taking it to the ground and subbing Riggs.

Every single fight in UFC 57 is just amazing. Even the heavyweight bouts have gotten my attention to see badly. Riggs vs Diaz is just icing on the cake. Diaz is one of the most amazing fighters on his back. No matter how good any fighter is, he can roll around wid them and gain position. I can't wait.

I can see Diaz taking down Riggs and then Riggs getting on top. Then, I think Diaz will sub him from the bottom with a triangle choke or something, ala Salaverry. Then again, Riggs is VERY dangerous on top, and he will probably be ready to defend against the triangle choke since he lost to Salaverry with that submission.
By the way, who is Riggs training with? Didn't he bash Billy Rush after his last fight? Is he with Rush, Sylvia, Horn, etc.? Or is he on his own? That will be a big key for this fight.

I'll be looking forward to this fight. Diaz is a awsome fighter, but he needs to be able to finish his fights, against good opponents. I think he's one of the toughtfest defensive fighters in 170 class. He would be a great no time limit fighter. I think Riggs will take this fight. As long as he can make the weight this time!!

really? i dont think by any means is robbie a "technical striker" he has very little technique which is why he always misses... he is a strait up slugger, as is riggs... i love to watch all of them fight though.
