Burkman update

Josh Burkman fought in a sixteen man one 180 lb tournament at the Delta Center in Utah,
1st fight: He fought a guy named Johnny Danger knocked him out in 16 seconds.
2nd fight: Fought some guy who went by the Alaskan Ulu, thirty seconds in won by rnc
3rd fight: fought Martin Scheer, beat him in pretty much the same way he beat Sammy but no head but (very vicious elbows)
4th: he gought that Tiki dude from the old UFC's and won by unamimous decision (two 5 minute rounds)

He won five thousand dollars, it was pretty cool.

When did this happen and what organization held this tournament? I was not aware Josh fought any of these guys.

It was called like ultimate combat it is just a small orginization in Utah, i was there trust me it happened.

I'm not calling you a liar or anything. Just wanting to get some info because I'm interested. I'm not the type to call someone a liar just because I don't know about it. So it probably wasn't a sanctioned event and won't be on tape then right? That sucks because I'd like to check it out.

No i doubt it will be put on video, its just a samll orginization, here in utah you can watch on sudays at eleven P.M so like one in the east, but it might just be local programming.

josh is an awesome fighter. if he beats fickett like he probably will, he will move up in the ranks quick

I wouldn't count Drew out. Koscheck did and look what happened. Drew seems to be really smart and he figured Josh out and nailed him with a perfect KO knee. If Josh doesn't demolish him quickly, Drew might be able to figure his game out.

Do you guys think they will be airing the Burkman vs Fickett fight on the UFN? Or will that be a prelim we will have to wait and see on Unleashed later?

Fickett has been my new favorite fighter since i saw him beat koscheck. he has great submissions, but if Burkman acts the way he did against sammy, Fickett might have trouble

That's what I'm hoping for. It really wouldn't be that hard to show them on an Unleashed next Monday or at least in the next few weeks. But I'm sure we won't see them for awhile.

The DVD is a good idea. I might buy it if the 4 televised fights are pretty solid. And I definitely want to see the other 4 fights as well.

As for Burkman, he is one of my favorites right now, and I would love to see him take the WW division by storm....at least the lower WWs in the division. Or maybe even move him up to 185 lbs. Either way, I hope he has a good showing against Fickett. I'm guessing he definitely won't take the same approach Koscheck did. Burkman is much more agressive than Koscheck.

Like jonny said, Fickett is smart though. He is a tough guy.
