Evan Tanner Champ Again?
I am interested to know what you all think about Evan Tanner and where he goes from here. Do you think he will beat Franklin in a third fight? If not, what do you predict about his future?(I think I spelled everything correctly this time without any typing errors?)

He has alot of heart so anything could happen, but Franklin just seems like the better fighter.

I dont know.. Tanner has been around for quite a long time and has always been one of the unsung guys, never in the spotlight, never wants to be in the spotlight. People underestimate him because of this, so I am going to say yes, he will be the champ again.

yes, definitely. I think he needs to be more agressive in the octagon, and that would help him a lot. When the other guy goes after you, pick him apart and dont just brace yourself for the hit!I hope hes Champ again.

it is harder for a Team Quest guy to play a standup fight, more of the dirty boxing / clinch and pound style.. if he cross trains on the standup game a little better, that will help him out quite a bit I think.

I agree with that. I mean, if he trains more on stand up he might knock Franklin out! Rich got rocked by Tanner a little earlier in their last fight.Didnt he say he couldnt remember it or something?

If anybody has the heart to make a come back, Its Evan Tanner. He's got a long road ahead of him. Alot of blood, sweat, and tears need to fall before he gets there. But, if he stays focused, he can do it.

Joe Rogan made a very good point about this before their fight in UFC 53. His point was that Franklin is a MUCH better striker and that Evan can improve, etc. but Rich Franklin is going to keep improving too, thus keeping him way ahead of Tanner.
My opinion is that these guys try to change too much about who they are and how they win sometimes. Tanner won the title by GPing the hell out of people. Why abandon that? The only way Tanner will ever beat Franklin is if he works harder on his takedown game and then imposes it on Franklin. Standing and punching with him is stupid. (Sure, there's always the chance of a lucky punch...) The results of UFC 53 speak for themself.

To tell you the truth, I thought Franklin was done when Tanner caught him with that right hook to the jaw. It just seemed like Tanner was way too slow and unagressive at that point. If he would have got to the ground and hit Franklin with a quick couple of punches there is no way Franklin would have recovered, but instead Tanner seemed like he was back on his heels when he landed that punch, and took a while to switch to "agressive" mode.
Props to Franklin for recovering from that and winning the fight.

Franklin is pretty damn tough though. I want to see him move back up to 205. Franklin vs Liddel is the fight I want to see.

You won't see that happen anytime soon. Rich is the champ at 185 and likes being there. There really is no reason to move back up.

Franklin Vs. Liddel
If Franklin fought Liddel I would go with Franklin all the way Liddel is tough but Franklin is tougher. That whole fight would be Chuck backing up looking to hit him as he came in and Frankloin will get hit and go down chuck will jump on him Franklin will take control of the ground and a get a better position and punish Liddel for a bit it would move back to the feet and they'll be in a clinch and Franklin will just bring down him down again and wear him out or tap him out by punches. Alot of people think Chuck is the best striker out there but I don't think so his technique is off to me. He is a good striker but not the best. I still can't believe he wants to fight Silva if he does it will only put a loss on his record. Be serious Chuck Silva hasn't lost a fight in almost 5 years. Come on Chuck be serious
