His contract with M1 was only for management purposes.

Can you prove this?

Exactly. I imagine there would be some serious repercussions if Fedor broke the terms of his contract. It's not as easy as simply "taking responsibility" for his career.

It appears that when Fedor signed with M1-Global he handed his career completely over to them, but I'm not going to pretend to know about the terms of the contract....if anyone does know them i'd love to see them.

I think the mysterious yet simple persona Fedor is famous for....the whole "I fight to put food on the table" (that is part of his attraction) is proving to be genuine and ironically really annoying some people.

Seriously, fighting to put food on his families table? With the money he's made in his career his family can live their remaining years swimming in gold, much less being properly fed. If it is all about the money with Fedor, he should be with the UFC.

It is a contract dude and it is not a contract in the United States.

We don't know wtf would happen if he tried to break it.

I'm with you, dude. I know what what happen if he tried to break it. M-1 would sue Fedor and the UFC and Fedor here in the US and Fedor wouldn't be able to fight just like Randy couldn't.

Co-promotion is defined by whatever Fedor and his managment deem it to be. They could have asked for their logo to be worn on Fedor's shorts and that could still consitute as a co-promotion. I'm not sure what their terms were with Affliction, but to walk into the biggest organization in the world and ask for half of what the UFC makes on their Fedor cards is insane.

No no no no it's co-promotionnnnnn it means they are sponsoring it 1/2 and 1/2.

Hence the web site saying brought to you by Affliction.

I am not saying Fedor's camp isn't wrong but I am not blaming Fedor himself til I see that he had no contract and he flat out refused to fight for them.

If it was all about money to Fedor then he would have been in the UFC years ago and made the money he has now with 1/2 the fights.

And Affliction co-promoted it with M-1. Are you now denying that?

Fedor was a free agent post Barnett incident. That's the only reason why the UFC tried to deal with him. His contract with M1 was only for management purposes.
I have no idea where people are getting this idea that he was somehow locked down to a contract with M1 when he has been under contract with them all along. Did M1 step in when Fedor was fighting for Affliction? No. Because Fedor wanted to fight for Affliction.

International contracts are made all the time. Just like you said in another post, a contract is a contract. For any possible way for Fedor to fulfill his contract, I suppose it would have to be promoted somewhat by M-1. Affliction was a co-promotion with M-1. Just cause Affliction went under, didn't mean that Fedor became a free agent. Fedor himself says he has 3 fights left on his M-1 contract. The only way I can see Fedor getting out of it is if the UFC offered to buy him out. I can only assume that M-1 would want a boatload of money or just not be willing to sell his rights.

Also did it ever occur to you that Fedor has never once shown that he likes conflict? he doesn't even look like he wants to be in the ring most of the time.

Brock made over 5 million in his last fight with the UFC so it seems to be in line with that. You have to consider that most of the money that top UFC fighters get paid is due to Payperview buys.

That's all well and good but it wasn't presented that way initially so it's annoying to hear over and over again.

It is what it is.

Fedor Update: Less than $2 million Guaranteed Ring Psychology

6 year, $30 mill? That's the # everyone keeps quoting.

But Snowden said that wasn't guaranteed (link above). Therein lies the conflicting reports...but all we keep hearing about is the $30 mill.

Either way, it's good $ but the $30 mill was thrown out there and repeated and repeated and repeated...yet it wasn't true.

-Offer was only for three fights, not six as originally reported.

-The guarantee per fight was *less* than Fedors contract with Affliction.
