Latest odds for UFC 57
these were posted on MMAWeekly. Looks like some pretty safe bets. Great odds for the main event.
The Venetian Hotel and Casino has posted the latest odds for the upcoming UFC 57 card...
Couture +160
Liddell -190
- The champion is a slight favorite over the challenger Couture. You would have to bet $190 to win $100 on Chuck Liddell. On the flip side you would bet just $100 on Couture to win $160.
Cruz +200
Mir -250
- Mir a decent size favorite over Pay de Pano.
Arsdale +180
Sobral -220
- Babalu comes up as the solid favorite entering this match up.
Eilers +130
Vera -160
- Brandon Vera is a slight favorite over Justin Eilers.
Aldano +130
Buentello -160
- Paul Buentello comes in as the slight favorite.
Hinkle +180
Monson -220
- Jeff Monson returns to the Octagon and returns as the favorite over Brandon Lee Hinkle
Whitehead +140
Jardine -170
- The battle of TUF 2 veterans, it's Jardine that opens as the favorite.
Riggs -115
Diaz -115
- This is a pickem between Joe Riggs and Nick Diaz

Wow the odds look almost exactly like I thought they would. I can see Aldana beating Buentello, they both have heavy hands and that will be a slugfest from the word go! If Mir is his old self he will beat Cruz with no problem but no one knows for sure what we are going to see from Mir.

I know here in New Orleans there are no bars that ever showed the events. However, I do know that the "club" on the navy base I am stationed at is showing the event. Hopfully they will continue to show them and save me $35 a month. I do know there was a bar in NE Ohio that was showing them.

the way it was explained to me about ppv's and bars and such is that the owner / operator of the establishment that wants to show the ppv has to pay the ppv price per customer that comes in and watches it. they figure this out by the occupancy limit of the establishment.
now, bear in mind, this was explained to me by a bar owner when i was stationed in california and it was in reference to a mike tyson fight that was coming up. there may be different rules the ufc goes with concerning their ppv's and what not.

How is Riggs and Diaz a pickem fight? Diaz can end it standing or on the ground, he is just a better fighter than Riggs and Diaz is fighting at his natural weight class while Riggs will be going through hell to make weight again.

is there anyone that lives in the Dallas-Ft. worth area that might know of a local bar/restaurant showing the event? I thought I heard Hooter's would be showing them but that was several months ago and I'd rather watch it on a big screen.

The UFC usually has a list of sports bars where you can watch the PPV, but it's not linked at the moment. Here is the webpage:

yeah I noted that earlier, the link was working up until Dec-Jan, so wonder if new year brought about some changes.

The bar by me has every UFC. I plan on going there to watch it, like I do every time, so I'll check into it tomorrow and find out.

Very much appreciated.
Nothing like watching fighting while looking at some orange T&A.
Guess Hooter's is the main hangout for the Texas area

Here are even more up to date odds...
- Frank Mir -232 VS Marcio Cruz +212 - Mir opened as the favorite and continues to be. You would have to bet $232 on Mir to win $100. If you like Cruz the underdog, you would bet just $100 to win $212.
- Renato "Babalu" Sobral -368 VS Mike Van Arsdale +338
Babalu is continued to see money go on him.
- Brandon Vera -243 VS Justin Eilers +223
Vera has opened the favorite and a little money has come down on Eilers.
- Paul Buentello -238 VS Gilbert Aldano +218
Buentello opened as the favorite and stays as the favorite.
- Jeff Monson -245 VS Brandon Lee Hinkle +225
The snowman is the solid favorite in this fight.
- Mike Whitehead +118 VS Keith Jardine -128
Pretty close to a picke'em with Jardine as a slight favorite.
- Alessio Sakara -392 VS Elvis Sinosic +352
Money keeps going to the favorite Sakara.
- Chuck Liddell -188 VS Randy Couture +178
Money has come down on Couture as of late.
- Nick Diaz -200 VS Joe Riggs +180
Everyone seems to be betting Diaz over Riggs.

Glad some people realized that Nick should be the favorite in that fight. Babalu is a huge favorite. And Honestly deserves to be. I wouldn't be suprised if he was at -400 by the time of the fight.
