Money is on Diaz. He is fighting more at his natural weight class. He is the better striker and he is better on the ground. I don't think that Riggs even has what it takes to bring Diaz to the ground.

I have a feeling that Riggs is fighting for his job on this one. I don't think that they will let Diaz go because he always has entertaining fights and can creat more hype then anyone but Tito. But after Riggs' last performance and his failure to make weight a loss or a boring fight will probably spell the end of him in the UFC.

I agree, one more loss and he will be sent back to the minors. i felt bad for him at first after he lost to hughes but the more i read he sounded like a big baby. theres no way that he couldnt find anyone to spar with. hell i would have let him beat on me!

This was actually the fight that made my decision to buy this card. I know it's been talked about on another thread, but being at $40, I would prefer a solid card over a superfight. And this fight I believe could be the fight of the night for however long it goes. Riggs has a lot to prove after his showing against Hughes, and Diaz needs to get back on the winning side.

I’m surprised that Riggs shoulder is ok to fight with. Last time I saw him his arm was twisted like a pretzel.

You should have seen Irvin's arm at UFN.

I guess I am not seeing what the big deal is on Riggs. I was not to impressed with his fight against Salavary and he did not make weight against Hughes and he lost both.
Diaz I understand he just has the bad boy charisma that the fans like, think his loss to Diego really hurt.

Diaz, although cocky, can back up his words. Riggs can't in my opinion. Diaz will KO him in the first.

I couldn't agree more. This was also the fight that pushed me to purchase the PPV rather than go to the local bar to watch. Even though the local bar has a lot of UFC fans, hockey cuts into seating and some a$$ always has to talk smack about UFC so the atmosphere sucks.

speaking of Irvin's arm, has anyone heard if he had some tissue damage after that submission? Bonnar said he heard tearing and i was wondering if it was really damaged or not....

Well you gotta remember those aren't the only times he has fought. He lost to Ivan who is a badass. The Hughes situation was just all ****ed up. I'm not saying he would have won but he definitely would have made it a better fight had he not had any of the problems he did beforehand.
Diaz is like you said a "bad boy" or sorts. I don't think that loss really hurt him that much though. He was part of one of the more entertaining fights of last year. I was rooting for him, am a Diego hater and still liked seeing that fight. It was a 15 minute war on the ground and those are kind of hard to come by.

If Diaz keeps losing, then it could hurt. If Diaz beats Riggs, then Diaz's credit goes up in the UFC. Riggs also needs a big win.

His name didnt show up on the medical suspension list, but that is all I know about it. I am also not 100% sure of what causes a medical suspension.

Any injury will get you a medical suspension. But if the doctors don't find out about it you are fine.
