Here is Jeromes newest message.. and what Tim has to say.. that xenophobe is really pissing me off now with his utter lack of respect, I hope LeBanner gives him a career ending contusion.
"Hi everyone. First of all I'd like to thank the fans, especially the American ones, who backed me up and thought I'd win against Tim even under MMA rules. I didn't think American fans would be that fair-play! In various forums (MMAWeekly, Sherdog, MMA.TV, Ironlife etc), most of the members think I'd win and that's touching. I'll reply point by point.
1. I don't think it's disrespectful to challenge someone from another organization. Challenges are what this sport is about, it brings excitement and allows the best to fight against each other. And if I remember well, Sylvia challenged Pride champion Fedor... Contradiction?
2. I thought a 2 fights deal, 1 fight in each organization would be good. But I have no problem with fighting him ONLY under mma rules in the UFC cage... Or anywhere else no matter the rules. So I officially state I want to fight Sylvia in the UFC cage. I'm at Dana White and Zuffa's disposal, and I'm waiting for them to reply to my manager's mail. I know they are serious people, I don't worry for that. Here's my manager's mail: alkermor@msn.com and my official website's address: www.jerome-le-banner.com
3. Why him and not Andrei Arlovski? For 2 reasons: first I'm sick and tired of reading he has great striking skills. I think I can prove he's far from being world class on his feet. Then I'm not challenging AA cause I'm not arrogant, I'm new in mma and Andrei Arlovski is on top. I don't think I will do good in a ground phase with him. It's too early, I must improve. I'm honest and I'm not overestimating myself. Everybody knows I'm not afraid of anyone but you must be realistic. Furthermore UFC would never accept a fight between Andrei Arlovski and someone from another org.
4. Sylvia says I'm a nobody and that I want recognition. He must be blind and deaf. Of course in the USA UFC is more well known than K-1 but in the entire world K-1 is far more popular. Sylvia is a no name outside of the USA, I'm not. I fought against the best and beat a lot of them, you can't say that for Tim.
5. Sylvia talks about respect and then he insults me? I also read articles where he insulted Tito Ortiz... Contradiction again? Before opening his big mouth he should compare his career with Tito's. Tito is a huge champion an deserves respect.
6. Regarding the insults again, I've met so many big mouths it doesn't bother me anymore. When I talk, I take upon myself and fight afterwards. He calls me "*****", "bitch" he insults my name, he insults my country... What the **** is wrong with him? We'll see if he'll talk that much when we'll be face to face...
So there, I hope mma fans understood it's just about the sport and that I won't lower myself and start insulting him. Now, I'd like him to tell me all that stuff face to face in the octagon at UFC 58. I want to challenge him in front of everybody... I know he must fight Andrei Arlovski so I'll wait for this fight to happen. I just hope Andrei Arlovski won't hurt him too much... Sylvia has no chance against him.
It's up to Tim now and the UFC now, I want to challenge him face to face in the cage as he requested. Dana, invite me and I'll be here for UFC 58.
For further info please visit my site www.jerome-le-banner.com , My space users can get in touch with me through my agent here: http://www.myspace.com/aka29
See you,
JLB
p.s : I still want his sunglasses
LeBanner's manager also replied with this message. "Hi, my name's Alan Kermorvan, I'm Jerome LeBanner's manager. We'd like to reply to Tim Sylvia. As a lot of fans know Jerome LeBanner challenged Sylvia in an interview to MMAWeekly. Sylvia immediately replied saying that he didn't know who Lebanner was and his challenge was disrespectful. He also asked why Jerome challenged him as they weren't in the same organization, and why Sylvia instead of Arlovski?
First of all I'd like to tell the fans I sent an email to Tim Sylvia 10 days before the challenge was officially issued to warn him and show him respect. After all this challenge is strictly about sport. Tim received that mail, I have the proof as we communicate on a site where you can see if the emails are read or not. However he didn't reply. Therefore Tim Sylvia knew LeBanner was about to challenge him. To act as he was surprised is pure bull****, and I'm sure he lied when he said he didn't know who JLB is. After Jerome's challenge and Tim's reply he started to act in a rude and disrespectful way, as shown in the following messages all posted on the same site the 9 and 10 of February:
I cant believe that ***** has the balls to call me out. **** K1 he can come to my turf to call me out big mistake on his part first aa thank him.
You think that ***** can beat me? Bring your bitch ass boy on he wont last 1 minute with me in the cage.
Here's an entry of his blog from the same site:
Most of you know that some K1 fighter named Jerome Lebitch I mean Lebanner recently issued a challenge to me. First of all I cant believe that this nobody would call me out and second of all why is he calling me out to K1, if your going to open your big fat french mouth to call me out at least have the respect to call me out at ufc. Why not call out AA if you think your so good why the #2 guy. This guy just wants some publicity cause he's a nobody and he wants some recognition. Go cry about your ****ty career somewhere else. Ill fight Lebitch no question thats if of course he has the balls to come to the octagon. We all know the french are pussys.

My statement was based on the proven ineffectiveness of karate including styles of karate that focuses more on combat then on tradition.

I would love to see this fight I have never thought Tim was a good striker he has improved but not a good striker he has good reach and can keep people away if he was 6" shorter he wouldn't be in the UFC

Except for the boxing, wrestling, and BJJ which he practices exclusivly now. Granted Kyokushin is his first art, but it is very little of what he is as a fighter today. He actually stoped practicing Kyokushin when his teacher died.

i dont think ive ever wanted to see someone absolutely destroyed in the octogon but i so hope that the tim / lebanner fights goes through. i hope tim gets his head ripped off. his response to having someone challenge him was sickening and showed just how little class he has.

Haha. What a freaking douche. And some people wonder why Tim is not liked? I hope he gets bashed hardcore. LeBanner doesn't need to prove himself to issue a challenge. He can challenge anyone he wants and they can say yes or no. Tim obviously wants part of this or we wouldn't be reading his ridiculous comments. I like the ending about french are pussies. Just think how riled up Nate got everyone by jokingly saying that Canada is America's pissing ground. Tim didn't sound like he was trying to be very funny there. Tim is the only one being disrespectful, not Jerome.
Please make this happen Silva!!!

No, he said on Beatdown Radio if he's any type of fiighter he's a Kyokushin fighter. He said that's his base and that's what he uses the most. Karate is effective if you apply it right.
What about Ray Sefo's kickboxing in K-1? He does Karate is a top guy in K-1.
You just can't label any martial arts as "impractcial" because if used correctly any art can be effective with the added cross training MMA requires.

Oh and another thing. Takanori Gomi said he exhibits Karate (I don't know which denomination) a lot in his matches. So, two top ten guys in their respected weight class say they use Karate in their matches. Hmmm . . .

Lebanner has also been training for years in grapling along with kickboxing. And once you become world class at one thing it is alot easier to become world class at other things.

If that were true, then we need to see him "tear through the lower ranks of MMA" before he can walk in an challenge a former champion with a 20-2 record. Kickboxing is a whole different animal than MMA. Sure, some KB'ers can walk into MMA and do well, but I have seen the opposite just as much...
I also think that Lyoto would crush Lebanner...

Here is the online petition to make the fight happen. The plan is to email a copy out after it gets alot of sigs. Lebanner was very respectfull in challanging tim and tim insulted him. I for one think that that alone says this fight should happen.
Even if you think Tim will win. Pleas sign to help make it happen.

Yeah... you see, I am not interested in this match up. I want Sylvia facing champions and high level talent -- not some walk on with a 2-1-1 record. That is just a step down for Sylvia. I would ignore Lebanner, if I were Sylvia.

You obivous don't know Jerome LeBanner. Why would we be making a big deal about this unless LeBanner was "high level talent". Look at his kickboxing record dude.

Is this chump really comparing himself with the greatest HW in MMA history? Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia makes sense -- they are both either a champion or a former champion. Lebanner is a nobody in MMA by comparison.

It is just paying respect to their first arts. All forms of karate involve long drawn out stances to generate power. This leaves you very vulnerable to a counterattack. All successful fighters use western boxing style of centripetal acceleration to generate power. As with other traditional martial arts there are parts of the style that can be effective in certain situations but as a style by themselves they are highly ineffective.
Traditional Martial Arts are arts, not combat systems. They are a skill that can be mastered and help you to focus. However in ordered to become a good fighter you have to abandon the actual fighting techniques and replace them with actual effective styles.
It is still a fact that GSP no longer trains in Kyokushin, he stoped when his teacher died.

This isn't KB. This is the UFC and MMA. I could care less about what a KB'er does in K-1, unless I am watching K-1 KB. For a sport with such worldwide appeal it sure gets little to coverage in the USA. I respect K-1, but I think that their marketing (along with a lot of MMA as well) leaves a lot to be desired by me.
In MMA, Lebanner is a nobody. He said THAT himself in that letter posted in this very thread!

Considering the Fact that Lebanner has a great chance of beating Tim. I think that he would be a very good opponent for Tim if he want's to prove he is the best. It somthing like 90% of MMA fans think that Tim would get KTFOed and anther 5% thinking that Lebanner would win by decision. The rest is Tim by sub.
