UFC and Team Quest
I've been thinking about this and figured I'd throw it out for discussion.
Team Quest and the UFC. Is their relationship completely broken? Think about it. After Lindland was released from the UFC, some interesting things have happened. It was widely reported how Randy Couture trained for his 3rd fight with Andrei Arlovski and Forrest Griffin in Las Vegas. The training apparently occured at the UFC training center as well as the Las Vegas Combat Club. Apparently, the main reason was Randy's divorce got ugly and he felt it would be better to be out of Oregon. Legitimate reasoning.
But then came Chris Leben's last fight. During the fight with Rivera, Joe Rogan repeatedly mentioned how Leben was no longer with Team Quest, though I now forget who Leben is with. Combine that with Couture being away from TeamQuest and Lindland being out of the UFC, and one has to wonder. Lord knows Pride's Dan Henderson, another TQ guy, has never gotten along with the Zuffa regime.
If you visit the TeamQuest website and click on fighters, neither Leben, Couture, or even Nate Quarry is listed as TQ fighters. Even though Couture and Lindland started TQ, only Lindland is listed as a fighter. There is a story on the site about Nate Quarry, but he is not listed as a fighter the way Lindland, Henderson, or even Chael Sonnen are.
Of course all this is speculation, but I just found it very interesting when I heard Couture was away from TQ when he was training for Chuck 3.
