one judge had the match 30 to 27 clearly showing that their was bias against diaz. it was a very very close fight, nothing wrong with saying that... no one clearly had to win, i thought it was a draw if anything...
you have a problem with the saying "hands down"? if so, dont know what to tell you. but as far as the riggs / diaz fight being a draw....no way. i dont think that it was a 30 - 27 victory, but it was definitely 29 - 28. The last two rounds were mostly standup and riggs clearly beat diaz in that aspect of the fight. Riggs took the third round easily. The first round clearly went to Diaz. The second round was a bit closer but it still went to Riggs due to him winning the striking in that round and there being very little ground work in that round.

I've thought about it a lot and tried to come up with how diaz won that fight or even made it a draw and just dont see it. the second and third round went to riggs thus making him the winner.

ok ill help, the first round was a completely dominent round by diaz.... so one for him without a doubt... the 3rd roudn went to riggs "hands down", BUT less so then diaz won the first when he almost KOed riggs...
so just look at the 2nd round, i think there was more ground work and sub attempts then you think... i thought this round was dead even.... joe rogan said he thought nick diaz won that round... so thats why i think its a draw

No offense, but you could make that argument to each and every fight in the UFC. If you go by Pride rules, then Wes Sims in his first fight with Mir probably would've stomped the sh*t out of him when he had him against the cage.
Slightly different, I was talking about judging rules, not fighting rules.

I haven't seen the Diego/Diaz fight, so I can't comment.

Riggs/Diaz fight though... Diaz won the first round. While Riggs did better in the first half of the 2nd round, I thought Diaz finished stronger (with a near finished sub at the end of the round, better stand-up the second half with some solid solid punches). Riggs landed a few glancing punches in the first 2.5 minutes, but Diaz landed the more solid punches in the second half of that round. Most of Riggs punches land on Diaz's arms.

Riggs landed more solid punches in the 3rd, not much else going on.

Also, a knock against Diaz, does anyone else notice he tends to throw in random headbutts?

well, you see it one way and i see it another. im not going off what an announcer says about the fight, i went off of what i saw. in the second round, diaz "attempted" a few submissions, but finished none of them. they resulted in him getting hit in the face several times. to me, that just doesnt lend weight to diaz winning the second round. also, most of the second round was striking, not all, but a lot of it. and diaz certainly did not win in that department of the fight. so, second and third round, thus the match, to riggs.
