The possibility of Rampage in the UFC....
This is a quote from an article i came across and found it interesting. does anyone know why tito and rampage have said they wouldnt fight each other? are they friends, similar to how GSP wont fight Goulet or the Crow?
From the article, it doesnt look like rampage will be coming to the ufc unless some things change....
"Hypothetically speaking, say ‘Rampage’ defeats Liddell and becomes UFC Champion; what is next? Both he and Tito Ortiz have said in the past that they won’t fight each other. Do you bring in a fighter to be a contender who won’t fight one of your contenders, or one of your contenders won’t fight him? The UFC has spent a lot of time and money building Tito Ortiz over the years. Chuck Liddell is more popular now than ever before due to winning the title and his coaching role on‘The Ultimate Fighter’ reality show. Ortiz is a coach in the upcoming season of the reality show. Bringing in Jackson wouldn’t open up the division. It would restrict it. "

Huh? Tito ortiz won't fight Rampage? Pfftt....
Probabley afraid of getting beat worse than what Liddell did to him. I think they would still fight, afterall did'nt he originally say he would not fight Chuck way back when? Yet you saw them still step into the ring together...
Also i doubt they have a say in who they fight anyhow. UFC management & Dana make the matches, not them. I don't think Ortiz wants to risk getting on Dana's bad side again by turning down a big money match either.

Tito and Jackson are former training partners and very good friends. That's why they wouldn't fight eachother.

Of course if they have a falling out like Tito and Chuck then sure it could happen. As it stands presently that is not the case.

I always thought it was dumb to have fighters say that they won't fight each other because we train together or that we are freinds. These guys are professional fighters, this is what they do for a living. I don't care if grew up with the guy, you are getting paid to do something you obviously love to do. I think the pay day alone for a Ortiz/Rampage fight would convince these guys to step into the ring.

I would love it but I don't see it happening. True- Tito and Quinton are friends. How would that help the division? True- Quinton wants the most money possible to fight and he can make more of it in Japan. Dana has the money but I doubt he will give it up.

I think that if this is true it will be announced at the next UFC or UFN. I hope it is! This would be excellent news for the UFC and their fans.

I think Quinton and Tito should fight to see who's the #1 contender...Like BJ and GSP. I always enjoy watching Cheeto, I mean Tito getting it handed to him.
