The year of Ortiz
Now is it me or from UFC 58 can we all tell that if it goes Tito's way, it will be his year for all the great box office fights. Tito vs. Griffin next month will be brilliant, Tito vs. Shamrock will be fantastic seeing the hatred there and I think that will be amazing, and by then I would think that Tito would deserve a title fight against the champion after that if he wins both fights. I mean if Liddell does fight Babalu next then the winner of that could face Tito later on in the year. It just seems to me that those 3 fights in Tito's mind will all be the biggest fights of the year to be honest.

I think the only reason the UFC brought Tito back was because of his draw value

Nah. He'll beat Forrest and continue on his rampage (over Shamrock) until he faces Chuck again. I'm not gonna call that one though.

I think he'll probably beat Forrest, but Forrest knows it's the biggest fight of his life, so he'll probably train ridiculously hard for it, come in in amazing shape, and he'll go the distance with Tito, who'll win because of the amount of time he'll have Forrest pinned down and eating elbows. Still, Forrest will earn some more respect when people see him do fairly well against Tito.
Tito and Shamrock should be an easy, ugly and pointless win for Tito. I think I'd rather eat a sandwich than watch him crush an irate Ken Shamrock.
Liddell-Ortiz II will go exactly the same as the first one, only Tito won't be as eager to stand with Chuck this time. Won't matter, though, because Chuck will keep stuffing Tito's takedown attempts, and sooner or later he'll catch him with a couple of bombs and put his lights out.
There's Tito's three-fight deal in a nutshell. Any other questions?

If he can get by forrest, it will show that Ortiz still has game. As for shamrock, come on guys, his last fight in the ufc was a joke, it showed that age and too many punches to the head took a toll on him. Ortiz has nothing to gain from the shamrock fight, it's a pointless fight in my opinion.

i dont know man. i wouldnt just chalk shamrock up as an automatic win. his last fight he slipped and rich took advantage of it. could have happened to any fighter the way that fight went....
i bet shamrock comes into this fight in good shape and i dont think tito will have as easy a time as his last fight with him. and as for tito, his last ufc fight wasnt spectacular either.....

yes, forrest hates being on the ground, but hes had a lot of time to prepare for this fight, and i think he is smart enough to know that tito will try to take him down and pound on him. i think he probably has spent a good amount of time working on his ground game and take down defense. it wouldnt surprise me a bit to see forrest take the fight.

Tito will be lucky to come out of those two fights with a .500 avg.

how can he come out of 3 fights with a .500 avg. are we talking draws? lol I think he'll go .666 at least. I think he'll win against Forrest by stoppage. Again by stoppage against Shamrock. Depends on who he fights for the title, on how it will end. If it's Liddell I think it will be Chuck by KO or Tito by UD or SD. If it's Babalu I think it will be Tito by stoppage or UD.

The way I see it, Tito Ortiz is in a must win situation. He has to get his fighters to win on TUF3 because that would help to cement the ideology of Ortiz as a fighter and a coach. It would show that his methods work. Tito has to beat Forrest Griffin and Ken Shamrock because they are the first steps towards a LHW title shot.
Tito Ortiz exists to be the champion. His life would seem almost meaningless without that title. That means that he must defeat either Babalu or The Iceman. One loss in any of those matches and Tito Ortiz will be derailed. Here is how I see it ending:Ortiz-Griffin: This will be a titanic battle. Griffin and Ortiz will put on as good a show as Griffin-Bonnar 1. This fight will end in dramatic fashion, and I think that The Huntington Beach Bad Boy will win. I hesitate to say how it will end, but I think Forrest will get cut bad.
Ortiz-Shamrock: I am sorry to say this, but I see a replay of Ace-Shamrock in the works. I love Shamrock, but I do not see him beating Tito Ortiz. I think that this may well be the retirement match for Shamrock. I think that Ortiz will win by GnP or perhaps even a stand-up KO (however, I doubt that one).
Ortiz-Liddell: I think that this match will happen whether Liddell beats Babalu or not. I think that Babalu can beat Liddell. If that happens, then I think that they will make this match-up with the winner fighting Babalu for the LHW title. This match would be the biggest MUST WIN MATCH of Tito Ortiz's career. If he beats Liddell, however, I do not see Tito beating Babalu.
