Well, Salaverry is a no. Looks like it will be hard hitting Vale Tudo stud Justin Levins. I guess that will make it more of a standup war, with Levins trying to make a good impression in his first shot in the big show. Ill still take ETs expirience.

The IFL is going to be something for the UFC to worry about. Zuffa has already done the hard work of introducing MMA as a sport to the public. Now that people are catching on, it becomes more about the fighters than the organization because are just going to want to see good fights from good fighters they know. The UFC is kicking out good fighters and the IFL has said that one of thier main concerns is paying thier fighters well, not one of the UFC's major concerns. I think next year/season we'll see much bigger names in the IFL and they will be right up there with UFC and Pride.

im sorry i really disagree... the IFL will just be taking young up and coming fighters who will bolt for the UFC or pride for more money when they get good, and the fighters that the UFC and pride dont want.... Ivan is really just one example, and i bet he leaves as soon as someone takes him back...
the IFL just reminds me of minor league baseball.... or backyard wrestling with the way its set up... i also dont see any network every picking that up at any point...

Why would the UFC be some adamant about trying to "crush" them and bringing up the smallest details and trying to sue them over it? Plus how are you saying it reminds you of minor leauges or backyard wrestling (wtf?) when it hasn't even had an event yet? That makes no sense whatsoever. It's one fighter in each weight division fighting on each team. Where are you getting all this? Also I'll bet you money that you are very wrong about how you don't see any network picking it up. I bet you they are going to announce a TV deal within a month.

Also I'll still pick Tanner over Levens. I'm excited to see Levens get picked up even though he got knocked out by Smith (in a fight that was incredible by the way) He's got a chance to knock him out but I agree Tanner's experience should get him the W.

it has no quality fighters compared to any other organization, thats it, bottom line.. .. you want to bet about the network pickup within 1 month? sure, how about 50k id bet any amount of money youd like... the IFL has little to no talent and will be gone within a year... they arent close to having anything, and that whole team concept i was reading about sucks... ill stick ot pride and the UFC thanks

I think Evan Tanner will take care of Horn. Evan's got the better stand up game, in my opinion, and Chuck's already shown how to handle Horn's ground game. Take that away and I think Evan mops this one up.

Unfortunately, Jeremy had to bow out due to a back injury. He has been replaced with a hard hitting Vale Tudo WECer Justin Levins. Hes one of the Extreme Cagefightings best, but lost his last fight KO style to Scott Smith, who also fights at 59 against David Terrell.

Still, you are correct. I see ET taking care of business.

Yeah, Tanner all the way.

Anyways, if KOTC is still around with some of the crappy fighters they have there's no way the IFL will be gone within a year. I don't see how it is comparable to backyard wrestling in any way. It's its first year so obviously they won't have alot of the big names but look at the names ROTC got within a years time. The sport of MMA has too much talent for any one organization to be the only viable option. The whole team style thing does little to alter the fact that the IFL is a promotion (who looks like it is going to be the highest paying US organiztion) that promotes good fights.

gspalltheway you're crazy

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=4121

These fighters are damn good fighters that haven't been picked up yet, they aren't talentless hacks.

Secondly, http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles.asp?n_id=4051

Quote:
s. The IFL alleges that it was about to sign a major deal with Fox Sports to televise its fight league when White and the UFC baselessly threatened to sue Fox Sports if the TV network inked a deal with the IFL.

According to the IFL, Fox balked when threatened with the lawsuit and chose to put the deal on “hold.” The IFL, alleging that White and the UFC set out on a course to “crush” the fledgling company, said the UFC also threatened major fight managers that if they dealt with the IFL their fighters would be barred from the UFC.
May want to split this thread...

Dude I could understand if they were a struggling organization and they had been putting on crappy shows regularly but they haven't even had their first event yet. I don't understand the whole dooming it to failure before it's even launched. They have already had several big names sign on and some more who can't compete yet but are interested. Like mepersoner mentioned IFL will most surely get a big TV deal. I also asked one of the IFL reps personally about a TV deal and they said it WILL be shown on TV and to watch out for an announcement within the next month. So I hope you got your 50k handy. Lucky for you I'm really not a gamblin man though. All I'm saying is that there are some people who are the "there is UFC and everything else sucks" that are saying the kind of things you are saying but I didn't realize you were one of those types. It's cool though, to each his own. Have fun trying to pretend like you still hate it a year from now just to hold up your end of the bargain.
