Chris Leben Vs. Luigi Fioravanti
I am I the only one who was shocked to see Leben fighting this dude? I am not all knowing, but I certainly had no clue who Luigi Fioravanti was. I expected Leben to fight someone with a bigger name.
**edit**
I am really looking forwards to the Cummo/Von Flue fight though and a few others.

Don't get too excited. I think the Cummo/Von Flue is on the undercard.

Luigi Fioravanti has a record of 6-0 on sherdog, there is no picture but I think I saw Luigi fight before and he has red to almost pink hair. Should be like 2 party clowns fighting.

Yeah I don't think there is going to be much skill displayed in this fight. Leben was talking about him like he's going to come out swingin like a wildman. Should be entertaining though if it doesn't end quick.
I do wish that Leben would step up the competition. He didn't struggle with Rivera so his next step should have been forward, not to remain where you are or take a chance losing to an "unknown" fighter. Nothing against Luigi at all but he's the only one who has anything to gain in this fight.

Yeah I really didn't understand this fight either. You just ran through Rivera who gave the current champ one of his toughest fights and then you fight an unknown? Granted he's 6-0 but his opponents have a combined record of 24-30. One of them is 0-1, one is 2-2 and one is 2-9 with no good names on anyones record. Joe Silva must really see something in this guy but it looks like Leben is going to destroy him.

either that or there was some sort of problem finding someone for him to fight. this might be the only guy they could get, who knows. what i do know is id like to find out why they stuck him with luigi instead of someone like swick. those two look like they have a big time collision coming if they keep on their winning ways.

Cummo vs Von Flue on the undercard? I think thats a mistake, that has the making of the best fight of the night IMO.

This may be a good fight. I hope Leben wins, but this Luigi guy looks to have some skills. I hope its a great fight.

I said before the Rivera fight that if Leben wins he should be on a PPV. I have no idea either why they are having him fight a total unknown in Fioravanti. Whitehead gets on a PPV but Leben can't?! I'm sorry, Joe Silva usually does a good job matchmaking, but he is not doing leben any favors at all!!! Like Angryjonny said Chris has absolutely NOTHING to gain from this except a small paycheck!

Well Leben said in an interview that for him its not all about the title shot. He basically said that belt holders come and go, and he wants to "put his stamp" on the UFC by taking all worthy opponents. I like Leben and think hes a pretty solid fighter ( esp. stand-up), not to mention he had the biggest personality on TUF1. I hope he does well!:sport-smi

Well I just hope when he said "I want to beat everybody" he didn't mean it literally.

Well that Mir loss sure surprised the heck out of me, you never know...
But I want/think Leben will destroy him, as most everyone has said.
