Default The next heavy weight title challenger...

Looks like the winner of the Monson / Pe De Pano fight will be fighting for the title next against the winner of AA / Sylvia.

I think that AA is going to retain the title and a fight between him and either monson or cruz should be a very exciting fight. im already finding myself looking forward to this match up and the current title shot hasnt even been held yet...

I'd give Brandon Vera a title shot before I'd give Monson or De Pano one. I still don't either either of those 3 will be able to challenge AA.

this thread is already talked about in about 5 others, but ill respond with the same answer.. moonson and pe de pano winner should NOT get a title shot.. neither is a champ, and by no means would it be an exciting fight for either of them... either would get KOed right away.. at least sylvia has a better chance so im moderately excited for that fight... vera or paul are much more suited to have a shot... moonson beating brandon lee hinkle then pe de pano is not enough for a title shot

im not in the habbit of posting stuff that is already started in another thread. i didnt notice this or i woulndt have started this one....

i think either cruz or monson could probably take sylvia and i think either would make a good matchup with aa. i dont think they will necesarilly beat him but it would be a good fight to watch...

I thnk they'll put the winner of Monsoon and pe pe pano against Brandon Vera and then the winner of that will get a shot at Arlovski. With that said I don't think nobody in the UFC can beat Arlovski, when Arlovski is at 100%. Dana needs to step it up and bring in a tough new heavy. Possibly someone from Pride or K-1 like Barnett, Cro Cop, or LeBanner

While you are right about the topic I guess it's okay that now we have one devoted to the next challenger. I agree that Monson and Pe De Pano winner should not get a title shot, because they both need to prove themselves some more. The thing is that isn't how the UFC operates and especially with the talent pool so shallow in the HW division it's likely the winner will in fact get a title shot against Tim or Andrei.

I see two possible scenarios, the winner of Monson and Pe De Pano gets the loser of Tim and Andrei for a shot, or the more likely being the winner of Monson and Pe De Pano getting a title shot right away so we don't have to see Tim vs. Andrei III so soon.

I think the winner of Cruz/Monson gets AA.

I'm excited too, but I think Cruz is going to take it. I think he has a good shot of making waves. If he gets it handed to him Saturday night I guess you can all laugh in my faces...lol.

i wasnt saying that either of these guys deserve the shot at AA (or whoever has the title after this weekend) but from what i read, it seems like its a done deal, the winner of monson and cruz gets the next title shot. it was on mmaweekly i believe but i dont have the link at the moment...ill try to find more on it.

I think if AA takes out Tim, let him have Vera or Monsoon.
Let Sylvia then fight either Mir or Buentello to try and get another shot against AA.
There are some nice HW matches to look out for but there are no strong opponents for AA at this time.
Monsoon/Cruz, Mir/Buentello, Mir/Silvia, Silva/Monsoon, Sylvia/Monsoon, Vera/Buentello, Sylvia/Buentello, AA/????

A very long shot would be Tito or Shamrock stepping up to face AA but that could get ugly.

if sylvia gets demolished like he did last time with aa, i think it should be a while, and a long while, before they even think of giving him another shot at the title. there are too many other heavy weights that can come up through the ranks that should probably get a shot before tims's 3 attempt...should he lose this weekend that is.

In a perfect world (and division) neither Monson or Cruz would be in line for a title shot this soon. But assuming AA gets by Tim, I would guess that the winner of Monson/Cruz gets it. If Jeff wins, he'll have beaten Hinkle and Cruz, where Cruz would have beaten Mir and Monson. Again, this shouldn't do much, but in a division this shallow, beating two solid HWs in a row counts for something.

and if that happens ill finally have an excuse to NOT buy a PPV for hte UFC.. they have all been so good lately ive had to get them all... that HW match would automatically have me not buy it if its a main fight...
