i think its the pain thats involved with each move probably. his arm probably wasnt in that much pain up untill just before it snapped, and at that point, he probably didnt have time to tap before the damage was done. with the achilles lock, that has a lot of pain before it starts to do serious damage. i could be way off but thats the only thing i could think of when asking myself why he tapped to one and not the other...

Yeah I don't know at all since I wasn't the one in Tim's shoes but I'm just going off Bas always saying that if you don't tap to an achilles lock the other guy will burn off the energy trying to tap you and eventually give it up. It's not career threatening just painful, you just have to endure through it. I guess that is easier said than done.
I just can't imagine Tim not being in pain with his arm about to be snapped. Just weird that I would think it would be the other way around though.

Hopefully Tim learned that its better to tap than get hurt that bad. that was a crazy injury even after the fight had been stopped he acted like it didnt hurt and said it wasnt broken.

I never knew he had his arm broken. Was it a clean fracture and how long did it take him to recover?

the sharpshooter or the million dollar dream just kiddin...ddt.
I do like a deep armbar (particluar hughes vs gsp) but I saw a body triangle once with the loser face down, the guy looked like he had his spine crushed, real painful.

Yeah, I have that fight on tape. I'm thinking it was Ivan Salaverry that applied the body triangle. I tried it out on my training parter and he on me the next day and it really keeps you from breathing with just the triangle, but when you arch your hips into them like that it really kills the back!

Yep that was Ivan vs. Fryklund at UFC 50. It was a good one. One of my favorite UFC's that has been put on in quite a while. They still have yet to top that one really.

It took him seven months to recover, and he had to have 3 titanium plates put in. UFC 48 is the one you wanna watch.

That body triangel was amazing. The dude looked like he had just been destroyed internally afterwards
