When did he grease? Before the 2nd round? Griffin said on the radio that he doesn't even shave his legs let alone oil up. It was funny, he said even though he didn't do it, it wouldn't have been a bad idea.

Tito's doing this for the drama. C'mon it's a business and there's some entertainment value. Look, we're talking about it, right?

However, the injury happenend before the fight and Tito had no problem in the first round taking him down. Own up to the fact that you were GASSED Tito. Then, all of a sudden, Forrest was oiling his legs....lol.

And I guess the injury had nothing to do with him gassing? Have you ever seen Tito fight before? Ever since Frank Shamrock, this guy does not gas. Period. Attempting to train on a torn up leg will do that to you.
I do admit Tito shouldnt have said anything about the oil. Who knows. Did anyone hear the actual comment from his mouth? I am wondering if he was just talking crap, or being sarcastic as Tito likes to do. Either way he won the fight so it doesnt matter.

I was thinking the same as most of you when i read that....you won man, shut up and heal up your leg. To be fair though, Tito didnt bring up his leg injuries first, he was only answering Joe's question about having his leg wrapped up in the fight.
There's no denying that Tito is talented and is a force in the UFC, if he would just shut up and do what he does best things would be a lot better off for him, or at least thats what I think.....

Meh. Tito still gave him credit though. I know all about Tito's past and how people dislike him. Yeah, he's cocky, brash, sometimes disrespectful, and swears a lot sometimes but I still like him. What's wrong with me? lol

Some of you guys are actually surprised that Tito said things like this? Look how much of a reaction it's got just on this board alone. Imagine the talk across every forum all over. Tito can play people like a deck of cards. He's going to make way more money being the "heel" then the good guy just like he did before. I'm surprised no one else thought this or am I just crazy?

i agree there. he knows how to stir up both peoples reactions as well as controversy. the more he has people and the fans talking about he said this or he said that, the more attention and the more the spotlight is on him. hes just like a kid that misbehaves to get a parents attention...bad attention is better than no attention at all.
he knows how to stir things up and that, in the end, will translate to more fights and more money for him in the ufc...he knows what he's doing. tito may be a loudmouth, he may be rude and brash, but one thing he isnt is stupid.

That's exactly how I feel. Tito Ortiz gets on my nerves so much I refer to him as a woman. I think he forgot to change his diapers. But anyways he is a good fighter and should have lost that match. He's just trying to cover up the fact that Forrest should have won, not him.

Exactly. I bet you that even if Tito was a horrible fighter he would still be one of the best ticket sellers out there. Why else would he want to make these accusations since he beat Forrest? I gurantee all the Tito haters aren't going to switch off when he fights. Whether you are watching for him to win or lose he still gets paid, and he has hardly anyone "on the fence" who don't really care, you are either for him or against him and he does it better than anyone in the sport.

He's using the ACL/MCL thing as a crutch to explain his lack luster performance. If he'd had even the slightest hint of any difficulty taking Forrest down in the first...I'd buy it. Second, he was on the ground most of the first round...i.e. his weight wasn't on it. It still stabilizes the knee yes, but with your weight off of it...it makes the job a heck of a lot easier. Fact is, Tito grappled for most of the first round, and attacked and attacked...that's why he gassed. Another thing, a lot of time Orthopedic Surgeons don't even do anything to "partial" tears. Why? Because they're insignificant. Dude wasn't limping, soft stepping, and demonstrated zero loss of explosiveness in the first round. He gassed out...period.

Did you think that Forrest kicking it may have had something to do with that? I do.

Forrest responds to Tito's accusations. Slide the bar just about halfway through the radio talk show.

"Don't make excuses for a victory..." -- Forrest Griffin
That says it all to me. Tito Ortiz needs to STFU.

Angryjonny is right on the money here. Tito probably didn't really think Forrest oiled up his legs, but he wanted to get some heat from it nonetheless. Tito is a very good fighter, and he also is a very smart fighter. He knows where the money is.
Tito won the fight fair and square.
Tito should keep his mouth shut, but probably won't.
Those two sentences sum up my opinions on the matter.
I enjoy watching Tito when he is in the octagon. Other than that, I could care less what he says or does.

"Boo me, cheer me -- whatever -- you're still buying tickets..." -- Tito Ortiz
That would be his reply, LOL. And, I guess that he is right.Griffin = hero
Ortiz = villain That seems to be the formula for an awesome fued or series of matches...
