Default Tanner not pulling any punches...

when referring to Loiseau in his video interview at UFC.com. He said that he gave David a "gift" and "he's been doin' a lot of crying" then he said "Loiseau, you big baby, let's do it again. You're not getting a gift this time. You got lucky last time, let's do it again."

I'd love to see a rematch because Tanner seems more focused now and you know he wants more than anything to redeem the loss to David. Hopefully this happens soon. I never seen Tanner be much of a trash talker, that kind of threw me off a bit though.

Yeah, Tanner did look pretty good in his last fight. Did I hear him say that he is training with new people this time around in the post-fight interview of UFC 59? But, on the other hand, it was Justin Leven's first UFC fight (I think). Anyway, bring on Tanner-Loiseau II!

Yeah Tanner was definitely doing well. He won the first round and was doing well in the second but caught a huge elbow right on the brow. You could see him wince in pain when it hit too. It was as clean as it gets. I rarely say that a fighter got lucky but I'm sure Tanner feels that way.

He's been training with Chute Boxe USA for a while. I'm sure he'll stick around there. At least I hope he does. I think that's been his problem is all the moving around and never really "clicking" with anyone. Hope he's found it with Chute Boxe.

It was Levens' first fight in UFC. Levens is still a tough dude and Tanner had no trouble with him at all. Gotta give him props for taking a fight against a guy like Tanner on a couple weeks notice though. I'm sure he just wasn't ready for the big boys yet. Give him some time and he'll do great though.

Yeah I would love to see a Loiseau VS Tanner II. I think Tanner could pull it off. Just make sure he doesnt get cought from one of Loiseau's dangerous elbows or spinning back kicks.

I think Tanner had a real good plan with Loiseau but he really needed to keep the pace on constantly for the three rounds, unless he could have finished it. I think Tanner isn't that explosive a fighter but is real solid and well rounded, with the Crow being a VERY explosive fighter, all it takes for him is the one opening for him to capitalize on, which he did. Ouch. If Tanner hadn't dropped the pressure briefly he woulda won it I reckon.

Bring on round 2, Tanner back on the up, Loiseau on the rebound, could be super awesome!!

I know I was shocked when I heard Dave had won. I definitely feel Evan's the better fighter...not to take anything away from Dave. Well, Evan probably does feel like Dave got lucky, but very little in MMA is luck. Dave threw it with the intention of busting him up. So, he deserves the win, but I think the better all around fighter is Evan.

Good point on the elbows sir. It's like saying that every looping right hook that Chuck throws is lucky, it's not if thats what the man uses to end his fights.

I agree on the elbows comment. People say Loiseau's wins are cheap. He throws those elbows to kill you. He's look for the KO.

I love Tanner but wasn't him who pulled a cheap shot in their match and went for a glove touch and threw a punch at Dave's face? I believe it was.

I think Tanner and Dave II would be a very exciting match. It looks like Tanner has a stick of dynamite up his ass and looks more determined then ever. The only thing I see with him fighting Dave again is all the cuts and face beatings Tanner has taken. I mean look at his last two losses. His face was all lumpy like my grandmas potatoes against Franklin and he had some nasty cuts against Dave. I'm sure it wouldn't take a whole lot to open him up again, the Pedro Rizzo effect.

ya, at this point, Tanner's brows and face have a lot of scar tissue from all the previous cuts and damage hes taken. you could probably open up a descent cut with an open handed slap......thats more of a sarcastic remark but its not that far from the truth.

It seems like some people are forgetting that Tanner was originally slated to fight Jeremy Horn at UFC 59. Instead he fought a guy that grabbed his balls and took the fight on three weeks notice. Sure Evan looked good, but it was to be expected.

Tanner has tremendous heart and was a great champion. I'd love to see him get back into the mix of things. Does anyone think that Tanner would have beaten Jeremy Horn at UFC 59? For some reason I think Evan would've gotten caught in a submission before he could damage Gumby enough to finish him.

As for Tanner Crow II, I'm down for that.

Evan Tanner is 11-4 in the UFC with two victories over Phil Baroni -- the first was a (T)KO and the second a decision. Tanner is a submission fighter, with like 60% of his fights ending in submissions. He has had only three fights out of 38 fights go to a decision, and he won those three decisions. I think that it says a lot for Tanner that he has only ever lost by submission one time. His other five losses were all due to (T)KO.

I am not sure that Tanner would have defeated Jeremy Horn. It would have been a great fight, IMO, since both fighters like to fight a lot and both have good ground and submission skills. Two great strikers have been winning againts Tanner: that was Franklin and the Crow. The only other people to beat Tanner have been Tito Ortiz (with that monster slam) in 2001 and that one submission loss to Heath Herring way back in 1997. It seems to me that a great striker has a better chance of winning against Tanner. Jeremy Horn can strike, but I don't think that he is a great striker...

He also beat Dave Terrell, who is a really good fighter.

This sometimes doesn't make a difference but, Tanner didn't have the muscular definition that he had in previous fights (in the Louiseau fight) Some times this doesn't matter but he looked tired in the second round. He is usually game to go 3-5 rounds. He might not have been doing much cardio and taking Louiseau easily (which turned out to be a mistake. ) I like Tanner and think he is a better fighter than Louiseau ( especially after UFC 59 ) I would love to see a rematch!!

yeah we need to see TAnner get another shot. going into the first fight i was worried about the very thing that ended up being the result... those damn elbows. Tanner was definitely winning the fight before the ''gift'' landed. Evans the man though, he'll redeem it and then have a much larger task of redeeming the 2 to Rich. GO ET!!
