Ryoto Machida
Wouldent this be a great signing for the UFC. He has victorys over Rich Franklin, BJ Penn, Stephan Bonner,Michael Mcdonald. Here is his victory over Franklin which is his only loss.

Thanks for the link -- I've been wanting to see a clip of that fight for a long time.

Especially since he fights around 215lbs.
Machida has a good contract with K-1 who have always hoped to have him help headline their MMA cards, HEROS. He is very loyal to Inoki and will do what he wishes. But I really hope he's able to break away someday so we may get to see him fight more. The K1 afficionados will know more about this, I'm sure.

Lyoto's loyalty to Inoki has screwed him out of having a spectactular career. It's one thing for a guy to only have six fights against scrubs but when they are against top guys and guys who are being built up now doesn't leave many questions about whether he's good or not just whether or not he'll be given the opportunity to do something with those skills. Lyoto would be a force and could beat anyone at 205.

Inoki basically has a vendetta against Pride after the New Japan/Pride wars so, we wont see Machida there. I believe Fujita cut ties with Inoki right before entering the Absolute GP.
I don't understand why Machida can't stay active in Inoki's Jungle Fighht more often. At least let him compete. And you know, we don't know the whole story. Nothing has been reported on.

Lyoto is smaller than Franklin, he could easily cut to 185. I'm sure he might only cut to 205 though, like Franklin used to.

I think Franklin is a much better fighter than he was then. I would love to see a rematch. My money is on Franklin.

Funny, this phrase seems to come up when discussing any fighters previous loss.
Anyways, my money would still be on Machida. His hand speed and mainly his reflexes are far superiour than Rich's and I don't think Rich could get him down either.
