Frank Mir in UFC 61
MMA Weekly has it rumored that Frank Mir will be back in action again at UFC 61. They do not have a rumored matchup for him as of yet. I think this is awesome. I want Frank to come back and make a serious run at the title and fight either Tim or AA. I think that if Mir is healthy, in shape, and ready to fight that he will just as impressive as he once was.

I hope so. I'd love to see Mir at 100% again, stringing some wins together. Both because I like him as a fighter, and because it'll give the UFC HW division a little more depth. Maybe Mir-Monson? How does that sound?

Hmm...I'm a bit skeptical on this one. I honestly can say I am not excited about his second "return" I just hope he doesn't get emberassed again. If he does he needs to call it quits. At least for a long while not just a couple months.

I dont know what the heck happened at 57, besides the obvious. that sucked... throw in Couture getting hammered and that REALLY sucked. Mir/monson would be interesting though-- I think an even tougher ''return'' than Cruz. I just hope he wins and gets back into the mix.

I think that Mir did well for someone that went through what he did. Pe de Pano showed why he was under-rated. I think that Mir showed his fighting spirit in that match when he was asked if he wanted to stop and he said no despite already admitting that he could not see. IMO, his problem is more of a physical issue than a mental or skill issue. It looked to me like his body was not up to spec with what he wanted to do against Cruz. If he can bring his body back in alignment with his ability, then I think that he will do well.

He should rematch pano's, there is no excuse to lose to a guy with one fight on his record, after you had just come back from being the heavy weight champ IMO, he had plenty of time to train for that fight.
He doesn't deserve a shot at AA, Eilers, or Buentello after losing that fight.

doesnt deserve a shot at eiler??? he was the title holder till he was injured. ya, he lost a fight he probably shouldnt have but hell, he was just coming back and its understandable. eilers shouldnt even be in the ufc after his last few showings but people like to see him get beat on so he will stay. i say let mir have him and see how it goes...

Yeah I think Eilers would be a great tune up fight for Mir. I bet Mir would take it as an insult though if they told him he was fighting Eilers. Man could you imagine if Eilers KO'd him? Then it'd be quitting time for sure.

Wow. Sorry but I gotta comment on that too. Do you just hate Mir or what Goeth? You can't truly believe that Mir doesn't "deserve a shot" at Eilers.

LOL at anyone deserving a "shot" at Justin Eilers.
And also, I'm a bit baffled by the statement that Mir had plenty of time to train for his fight with Pe De Pano. His leg was broken completely in half! As Joe Rogan said, some people have their leg amputated for this kind of damage. I don't begrudge Mir whatsoever for the time it took him to get back to the octagon, it's just too bad that he got creamed like that when he DID return.

He lost to a guy with a record of 1-0, I am a Mir hater, and I think Eilers would smash Mir according to the last fight, Mir needs to start at the lowest of the low IMO.
When the fight comes, this is why we got the points system to bet

Yeah but Eilers got KTFO in his last fight. I bet even Mir could knock him out. Not to bash on Eilers because the guy tries but he is there to provide HL KO's only he is on the receiving end.

Mir went out as the UFC champ, and when he made his comeback, he kinda walked into the Octagon thinking he would have his way. I think that fight might have woken him up a bit, and hopefully he trained harder than ever. I wish him all the luck.
