I never said he was actually a joke but like I expected a lot of people did after the fight.

yeah, I know. And you're right about what some are saying. If all viewers of the UFC had spent some time in the ring, they would understand that a loss to a talented fighter is not shameful if you fought with all you had.

No doubt about that. I haven't ever fought anyone but I can realize that. It's just the idiots that say that kind of crap. I remember making a post before that fight saying that if Nate were to get owned, which he did, that I hoped the fans wouldn't turn their backs on him. That seems to be the case. That's why I say they won't do that to Diego yet. They are going to give him some more guys they are confident he can beat then maybe they will give him a tougher guy after a while.

Trigg is looked down on for some reason for loosing to two of the top WWs in the buisness. But the man would simply dismantle Diego
|
i am not a diego fan.. but trigg just doesn't have the endurance to beat Diego. If Trigg can't knock him out in the first minute the fight would be over. It would be like a Mike Tyson fight with Diego beating on a tired Trigg gasping for air.

What makes you think Trigg doesn't have the endurance? The only reason he would lose now is because he's lost the desire to fight, which is why he retired. If Trigg came in ready to fight he would dismantle him, as Ray said already.

Granted, Diego has not faced top notch competition. However, one of the reasons I believe he will beat Penn is due to his intensity. Penn seemed like he was sparring at times with GSP but Diego keeps his intensity up throughout the fight. I agree Diego needs to fight Penn, Karo etc to see where he's at but personally I think he would fare better with Penn than Karo. We will just have to wait and see when the time comes.
BTW I am now Snow Patrol instead of arobin05.

Yeah good God. Trigg doesnt have endurance? Trigg would definitely take Diego apart.
It's already been said... he lost to 2 great fighters. Man, he sucks.
Sadly Diego isn't a great fighter. He's undefeated and his wins are a who's who of... not top tier fighters.

You see, that's where I disagree. He is untested but that doesn't mean he isn't a great fighter, we just don't know yet. Imagine this scenario: Matt Hughes is 16-0 in the octagon and hasn't faced top notch competition. Just because Matt hasn't beaten anyone that great in this scenario doesn't mean he isn't a great fighter. Diego may be great, time will tell.

Trigg's washed up. I don't think a prime Trigg loses to Diego though. Diego may be all the hype everybody but myself thinks he is, but how can it be validated until he fights a top notcher? If he's all that, I want to see him beat somebody good or at least make a good showing. Stop feeding him no names and give him a real opponent. Until that happens, I'm staying on the skepticism horse.

Hey man anythings possible, but Penn IS great now. He demolished Hughes and a (very controversial) split-DECISION vs gsp. I dont know where you get the idea he'd fare better against Penn than Karo. I'd love to see Diego get a chance to try it out though... as well as Karo vs Penn itself.

Yeah that's what I mean. I just said it a much nicer way being a Trigg fan. I am in the same boat about Sanchez too. He may be good but there is no way that I am going to believe it til I see him prove it. Yes I'm a hater but I can realize he is talented but it's mostly due to the constant talk of Diego lovers of how great he is because he's undefeated/he's the uncrowned champ etc.

I think Diego's a submission monster, he's strong for his size, and he's got pretty brutal ground and pound. I give him credit for all of that, but it's now time to test him against the top competition and see how he stacks up. Penn-Sanchez should definitely happen. What sucks is that BJ's probably not interested in fighting unless it's for a belt or it's against some legend that people say he can't beat. Knowing BJ's attitude, he'd probably see beating Diego a waste of his time.

I don't think Diego is great because he is undefeated; I think he is great because he is devastating and talented. Whether or not he will reach the top depends of course on how he does against the Penns, Karos, etc. Penn is established but that doesn't automatically mean he will destroy Diego. Diego may very well be the better fighter, but hasn't had the chance to prove it.

Until it happens that's a good point. I'm sure there's people out there who honestly think Diego would crush Penn. Now I think that's insane but still. I agree with the idea of Penn probably not being interested in it though because of his attitude... which I love. Karo/sanchez though, I'd like to see that one too. And man, snow patrol, your signature is killlin me!! Tanner getting smashed... ahhh. Bad memories.

Well, it's not automatic that Penn would win...anything can happen in a fight for sure. I just think BJ's BJJ and for sure his stand-up would pick Diego apart.

BJ is a dude who needs to suck it up and fight someone slightly below him, simply so he can destroy them and remind everyone who he is. And if Diego beat him, then it would force people (including me) to see him as legit, so either way, the outcome is effective.
