Rumored Announcement June 3rd
Pat Miletich is suposed to make some kind of announcement June 3rd with the UFC. He was on a local radio station and wouldn't confirm or deny that he will be fighting again. He said that he's been working out and would let them now on the 2nd (Friday) as to what's going on.

106.5FM Dwyer and Michaels in Davenport, IA had him on a phone interview. He said it was with the UFC. I'll have to listen on the 2nd, he said he'd let them know them since the 3rd is a Saturday and they're off the air on the weekend.

Right on. That would be awesome. I just remember hearing Bas say Pat was going to be fighting (can't remember who) in the IFL. Definitely give an update when you hear it.

I have a hard time believing this considering all the IFL-related hostility between Pat and Dana White. Pat has gone public with a lot of Dana's dirty laundry, and I've heard that if Dana could bar Pat from even cornering MFS fighters, he would.

Pat might be starting up his own MMA league with another person. Sorry I can't answer any questions until I'm able to get more info. All I can say is that it will be safer (I don't know how) and that the insurance for the fighters will be better. If my source is wrong I'll have to do a little GNP for making me look like a fool here.

Are you thinking of the IFL? or are you being sarcastic?

Fist of Fury, I'm not being sarcastic and it's not the IFL. One his professional fighters let it slip this past weekend. I'll be trying to get more info. I'm trying to get ahold of the guy who spars with Tim to see what he knows. If that doesn't work I'll ask my cousin who is co-owner of the gym with Pat. Hopefully one of them has an idea to what Pat's cooking.

I heard a while back that Pat was trying to start his own promotion but that was before everything was set in stone with IFL. I also have a hard time believing Pat will be co-existing with anything UFC. I'd say him and Dana are on about as good of terms and Shamrock and Dana.

When he was asked if he was going to return to the UFC he said that he couldn't comment on it until June 3rd (but agreed to let them know on June 2nd) as to what was going on. All he could say is that he's been working out really hard and we'd have to wait for the rest. If Dana and Shamrock are on working terms (U.F. 3) anything is possible isn't it?

Right. There usually is some kind of non-disclosure agreement. Just like Jackson when he couldn't tell anyone where he was going when everyone was asking if he was going to the UFC. I was actually talking about Frank Shamrock and Dana. They hate eachother. And Shamrock wants nothing to do with the UFC. But let us know if you hear anything out about that.

OK, I got ya bud, I just wanted to make sure. I mean, I love competition between the different organizations to up the quality of the shows, but Pat will be all over the place if this all comes about.

As of today, 8:45 AM (CST), Pat said that pretty much after Matt's win last Saturday that he and Dana had about a half hour conversation in private. I guess at times it got heated but both understood the others position on whatever they talked about. Apparently Dana had been misinformed about the IFL and some of it was clarified. Dana still plans on suing because of the former UFC employee that went over.
IFL heads were in attendance at UFC 60 and Dana blew up about it. He didn't understand that the guy running the satellite uplink outside of the building asked them to come. He was trying to be the one they use for their fights and it was purely a business meeting between them.
Pat also said that before 2007 they were going to add up to ten teams in the IFL. He also mentioned that before the end of the year there will be an event at the Mark of the Quad Cities (good news for us in the Midwest). He is also planning on a return but wouldn't say anything further. He laughed and asked who the source was when the Gracie name was mentioned.
[i]Sorry I can't add anything further about a UFC fight. He wasn't letting anything else out. I hope this little bit of information helps out.

Thanks for the update. Man why won't Dana just let the IFL thing go? The UFC is going to be fine even if they exist. In fact it helps the UFC. He should focus more on the UFC product, not the IFL.
Can't wait to see how the IFL does throughout the next year and hope Pat does make a return. I would really like to see a rematch with Carlos Newton. That would be sweet.

Everyone here knows that Pat's fight in the IFL has been confirmed and announced, right? There hasn't been any mention of it in this thread, so I just want to make sure that people are aware of it.
And again, I have a really hard time believing that Pat will be fighting in the UFC. I could be wrong, but it doesn't happen that often (lol!). Obviously, I don't have the same kind of contact and connection with MFS as MFS Fan, so I'm prepared to be proven wrong.

MFS fan, you live in DP? I lived there a few years ago. I'm about 45 mins away now. =)
Anyways, I looked up the militech camp the other day and they had banners for Pat's IFL fight.

That's kind of what I'm thinking sitnspin. I don't like to sound negative all the time but my hopes of Pat ever having anything to do with UFC are very very low. It's more like being realistic but of course some people get offended by that and call me a UFC hater. I would also like to be proven wrong on this though because I like Pat and don't want to see him be barred from any place and think it's stupid Dana treats him that way. *prepares for verbal onslaught from Dana supporters*

There are Dana White supporters? With all the hatred and criticism directed toward him on most MMA boards, I thought I was one of the few people who thinks he's a cool guy who's done great things for the sport.

He has done great things. He's also a scumbag. He's knows it. He doesn't care and doesn't want to be liked. He could care less whether someone comes up and says hey I love you Dana or I come up and say hey I think you are a *explitive deleted* but I still watch the UFC. I feel I can be critical of him especially during the ridiculous moments (like the media ban and trying to stop the WFC show. But I don't hold a grudge) because he wants to sell me his product. Plus he always wants his face associated with the UFC so that's where all the criticism will go. They go hand in hand. It can't all be fame and glory. But in the end I love watching UFC fights and thats all that matters. /end rant
