now I would like to see this....Matt was impressive against an old Royce but GSP is one that will (imo) take his belt this time around.

... I was under the impression that GSP already got his title shot rematch? By beating BJ Penn he essentially solidified the shot. Hasn't it been announced yet?

It's been announced, yeah. In that Dana White held a press conference when he and GSP were here in Toronto, officially declaring that Georges had a guaranteed rematch with Hughes. But they haven't said when, beyond "August or September."

From what I'm hearing it looks like September.

I think when Matt gets it to the ground, it's his fight. He'll be really prepared this time against GSP, I don't know if he was as prepared as he could've been or if he took GSP lightly, but I do know Matt didn't come on until GSP hit him with a few wake-up shots. I think Matt wins this one.

I'm very much looking forward to this fight. The only thing I don't like is the fact that GSP has to go so long without being in the Cage. My only concern is that he will be a little rusty in the ring. But, maybe it won't even be a factor, just a thought.

It's nice to see that Sanchez will be facing a top rated opponent in his next fight. Karo is no joke and has a great chance at beating Sanchez.
As for the Hughe / GSP rematch, that will be later like you say. It wouldnt go on UFC 61 because that already has some featured fights to sell it (AA / Sylvia and Ken / Tito). They wouldnt waste a potentially HUGE selling fight by putting it on a show that will already sell pretty good. Its most likely to be later in the year like everyone says, Sep or Oct.

Hughes vs. GSP is going to be a barn burner. Hughes is riding high and GSP has been waiting for this rematch since he was armbarred in thier first match. personally this is a fight i can't make a prediction on. Hughes has really looked unstoppable lately and GSP has done the same. if anything Hughes has the advantage on the ground and GSP standing. if i could pick an ending i'd want GSP to KO Hughes. that would be exciting.

How tough is Hughes chin? The only time I've really seen him been hit pretty hard was when he fought Trigg and Trigg pounded him for a bit after the groin shot. It seems he just avoids finding out how good his chin is by putting his opponents on the mat and finishing them.

That fight with Trigg showed me Huges is tough enough. UFC 62 - Hughes vs GSP -2- should be like two pit bulls in the octagon....ya gotta love it !!!

I really can't think of many times Hughes has been caught on the chin. In the Trigg fight, Hughes was unlucky and lucky to have Yamasaki as the ref. Because he is a terrible ref he let Hughes take the groin shot, but he also didn't stop the fight when Hughes looked like he was out. He has been knocked out but taking a knee from "Pele" and not going out is no easy feat. Unless someone knows of an instance I think his chin is somewhat untested.

I'm a big GSP fan and I think that GSP will take their next fight. When they first fought, no one talked about how much Hughes dominated GSP, everyone talked about how GOOD GSP looked against Hughes. Everyone - including GSP - state plainly that he made a mistake and got caught with an armbar in the dying seconds of the round. He didn't get dominated, he just made a mistake that cost him the match.
It's gonna be a great fight and I can't wait for it - but I think my boy GSP is taking this one

No Doubt, Hughes is one tuff son of a gun. Anyone who recovers after getting his bag pancaked and then pummeled by strikes, is a man in my book.

Here is my prediction: GSP defeats Hughes in Hughes-St-Pierre 2. Then, GSP defends the title one time before the GSP-Hughes rubber match. Here is what I think will happen then: Hughes wins the WW title back by defeating GSP in the rubber match. Then again, maybe GSP gets submitted in Hughes-St-Pierre 2. I do not know where GSP would go from there because he would not see another title shot for at least a year.
