Default Off topic. Karate sparring personal equipment ?

Guys I started sparring at my dojo and have used there stuff for a few times now. Alot of guys bring there own stuff. I went and looked at Century supply and was shocked on how much the stuff sells for. Im looking for the basics. Headgear, gloves, shin guards, and the padded belt like thing that goes around your waist. The type at the dojo is the foam dipped stuff. While I would like a better quality in general... THE COST IS WAY OUT FOR WHAT IT IS. Just checking to see if yall have a good online shop to get stuff from. I will check with my dojo and see if they get good discounts on stuff. They have a Century book laying there in the lobby area.

By the way sparring is a blast. I really have no real skills at the moment , but my boxing from years back keeps me in there and being somewhat competitive. I can do a few kicks but Im sure they are slow. My front wheel kick is sharp but my (back) rear wheel kick is ugly. They nail me eveytime I try it. I guess I telograph it LOL. But its a fun sweaty time. Thanks WarDawg

Check Title Boxing or eBay. Your right, the equipment is not cheap but neither is going to the hospital with injuries. My suggestion is to start with the head gear and buy other pieces from there.

And the Training & Nutrition section is fairly active when someone posts a question there, so I recommend you use it for this sort of thing.
