I find it amazing that so many people like this guy. I think he's an utter buffoon. I know it's just my opinion but I can't stand him.

By the way, gimme a month to train and I'd TOTALLY fight him! UFC rules... I promise his nuts are going on my mantle!!

You wouldn't want to waste a whole month of your life for that. The only thing you would need to train for is to make sure you know the proper way to tap your hand on the matt. Cause thats just about the only move you would be able to pull off on Mr. Rogan. An thats if your lucky and your arm is still attached to your body. But, best of luck to you with your quest for Rogan.

Holy Smokes, I can't believe this!! Are you in 7th Grade??? I can't believe you are taking this so seriously!! I'm loving this!! You can have your Rogan. I'll go back to the Pride boards where the intelligent fans are.

Ok, who's acting like a 7th grader? Man, don't dog the people here like that. If you can't be cool, then maybe a different forum or board is perfect for you.

Alright, back to the topic,

I personally really dig Joe Rogan. I think that his commentary is entertaining. It's nice to have a commentator that enthusiastic about the sport. I also agree with sitnspin. That he does a lot for new fans in helping them understand things, especially where the ground game and submissions are concerned. Plus his standup is hillarious.

^^Haha

I like Rogan. He has less of an announcer feel, I'm just kicking back and listening to another fan enjoy the fight.

Goldberg is a little over the top for me. Too artificial. I suppose that is just a result of his profession, however.

You nailed it, but as I said earlier, they've been hired to do different things. Rogan knows more technical info but he's also there to be casual and crack jokes and sound like a fan, while Goldberg's there to handle all the professional aspects of sports broadcasting, like doing intros for each segment (always at the right time and length, which is critical for live TV), and getting all the sponsor spots in the right number of times. Rogan tried doing that job one time when Goldberg wasn't on the broadcast, and as he says, he sucked and gained new respect for the way Mike handles it.

Joe's OK but he does need to tone it down a little. I appreciate his excitement for the sport, but he needs to learn how to TALK, not SCREAM & YELL about everything. He does this even when he's just talking to Mike at the beginning and end of the PPV's. We just sit and laugh at him.
But please, if you want to complain about horrible commentating, watch some King of the Cage DVD's... Holy S@%#! It's like a couple of complete idiots sitting on the couch trying to figure out what's going on.
As for GOLDBERG, I don't always need a Jewish guy's thoughts on everything in the media as though they're the supreme authorities... Dorks!

This next part doesn't relate to the subject we're on, so don't read it if you don't want to!

Check out your local newspapers, the owners of almost all the biggest media outlets in the US, most movie makers and entertainment bigshots like Spielberg, and see how many of them are Jews. It'll freak you out!

When you have the power of the media, you have the ability to control people's minds because most people are mentally lazy and immature, therfore easily persuaded. It's a very dangerous thing. I think people would be alot more worried about it if the Arabs owned the majority of it. But most don't even recognize a Jewish name let alone what they often look like, so they're totally unaware of what's going on.
It's like that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's movie from the 80's, "They Live" I think was the name of it.

Maybe, but read NTNS' last post. This is NOT the place to rant about some BS "Jewish conspiracy" or to drop the veil off your anti-semitism. I'm sure racistforum.com is waiting for NTNS.

Goldberg's is in sports broadcasting, and Rogan's is in being a stand-up comic who's studied and competed in martial arts.

Hey, maybe they can get Jerry The King Lawler and Taz to commentate for the UFC. LOL. Actually, I like Rogaine and Oldberg. They speak well and you rarely have trouble understanding what they say. They do have knowledge of the MMA sport, and that is enough for me.

Joe Rogan is the color commentator, IIRC. He is supposed to be colorful and entertaining as well as informative. Goldberg is supposed to be the straight-man with the in-depth knowledge of history and the fighters of MMA. I like them. I would not mind having Frank Trigg and Bas Ruten as the UFC commentators, but Rogaine and Oldberg do a great job as it is, IMO.

Someone over on the UG just pointed out something interesting. He bought tickets to see Rogan doing stand-up in Boston (that'd be stand-up comedy, not fighting :P), and then realized it's the same night as UFC 61.

What do you think? Couture and Goldberg? I thought Randy kind of got lost in the shuffle at 60. Sure, he's a smart guy and he's knowledgeable, but Rogan's a professional motormouth so it seemed difficult for the Natural to get a word in sometimes.
