again....Arlovski or Sylvia?...UFC 61
They have met twice and the first time AA **** him down fast. The second time he seemed like he was only interested in a knockout. That punch he caught sylvia with was devastating like the first fight but he didnt attempt to choke him out or anything when he could have had his way with him. I dont think he will make the same mistake this time and he will keep his head where it should be so I see arlovski with the belt again and it will be a quick fight i believe...

First off, I don't think this fight should be happening so soon. I really believe it should have been held off another couple months into the fall. But hey, if both fighters feel good, I guess we will get to see it happen sooner rather than later.
As for Arlovski, he was a little too over-confident after he took Sylvia down with that hard right hand. He kinda lost focus a little and paid for it.
The Pit Bull will come in a little more focused and will win the belt back once and for all. I am calling for a submission in the second round, if it's possible for these to two to make it that long.

I don't know man, I know it'll be over in under 1 round though.
I picked Sylvia last time but not because i THOUGHT he'd win, I just WANTED him to.
So I guess i'm going that route again... the biggg bar room brawl right hand comes through again.

Arlovski made a STUPID mistake and paid for it. He was overconfident. That loss was exactly what he needed.
He is obviously a far better fighter and now he will also be a much smarter fighter. KO or sub... either way AA wins. (It wont go to the judges.)

I agree with what everyone says. As much as I respect Tim and am a fan, I think AA just needs to stay focused and he will take the belt back.

The reason I picked Tim to win the 2nd fight (on a different MMA forum) was for 2 reasons:
(1) Andrei's limited time in the Octagon would take the edge off his game (realative to Sylvia's time in the Gon). Basically, too many easy fights, too far apart.
(2) Andrei's previous losses have come as a result of his chin gettin' dented. Tim might have the heaviest hands in the UFC and certainly knows how to deliver the KO punch. Andrei's chin of fine china and Tim's power = lights out if AA gets caught.
The 3rd fight will be the same with one exception - Andrei will be tenative about getting whacked by the Maine-iac. AA has to get in fast, get the big man down, and finish quick. The longer it goes, the better the odds are that Tim beats AA down.
BTW Tim, from what I read, is very dedicated to his training and loves that UFC belt dearly. AA better be ready to break something on Tim in order to get that belt back.
WAR SYLVIA!!!

I think the 3rd fight is a clean tossup. Will Andrei speed, sprawl, and explosive attacks be too much for Tim? OR will Tim contact Andrei's weak chin to put him out? To me its a tossup.. IT will not go the distance, it will go to round 2 if we are lucky!

I'm going for Tim, I want him to win, and I have confidence in him to win. I don't believe it is the dog in the fight, its the fight in the dog.. right?

I agree that this fight should not be happening right now. Tim should get at least one title defense in before he fights AA again. I know everyone wants to see this fight and so do I, but for god sake give Tim another fight first. As for who will win I have a funny feeling Tim will beat AA again. Although it wouldn't surprise me either way.

He's got to be able to take at least some punches or he can't be champ. He is in a dilemma because he needs to be patient, but he doesn't want to be in the ring a second longer than he has to with Tim.

from what I have read Tim wanted to fight AA to stop all the talk about it being a lucky shot I think he should of fought someone else first but I don't mind to watch him lose

Thats what I heard as well, and it makes sense to me, he puts him away and there is nothing left to be said. HE gets beat and it shows Arlovski made a foolish mistake

Arlovski the better fighter? Why? Because he's prettier? 'Cause he looks better when fighting? Come on, I don't care how good Arlovski looks, Tim has been an all around more successful fighter, no matter how goofy some of you may think he looks doing it.

Alright man, a passionate Sylvia fan... that's what I'm talking about.
Tim's theme song for UFC 61 (not to sound gay or anything) should be the one i'm listening to, 'Hungry Eyes'.
I'll pretend like I don't know who sings it to look cool in front of my FF friends though.
Anywayz, yeah... I don't think AA is as far ahead of Big T as some think and that big mistake that AA made sure took SOME skill from Tim to finish off that fast... so Let's Go Tim.
It'll be fast and awesome yet again.

I don't think anyone here is taking anything away from Tim Sylvia. I'm a fan of the guy as I am of most of the Miletich guys. And he is a two-time UFC champ which says something even if it's in the HW division.
That being said, Arlovski is still the better overall fighter. Are you just going off their most recent fight? Do you remember how their first fight went?
Arlovski is just as impressive, if not more, than Sylvia is. If Sylvia lands a punch, the Pit Bull will be out. However, Arlovski will be twice as prepared this time around and will take Sylvia down and submit him. He might have to break his leg doing it, but he will do whatever it takes.
I'm taking nothing away from either of them, but this is an opinion topic.

Tim Sylvia is 6'9" and weighs in a 265lbs..come fight night he probably hits 280 or more. He has a chin of stone and the KO power to knock out a bus. he is a fighter, its what he does, its who he is. Tim is no longer concerned about looking pretty on the posters or having a "six pack" midsection. following his steroid scandal and his loss to Arlovski Tim became a new man and directed all of his energy at regaining the HW belt. what does he have now? the Heavyweight title that AA wore with such grace. Tim is going to beat AA again and it will be by KO.

I'm not sure Sylvia's chin should be described as a chin of stone.

I think if AA had a granite chin, he'd be almost unstoppable. He's got awesome stand-up, he's super agile, super conditioned, fast, plus he's got Sambo too. He just gets KO'ed whenever someone Tattoos him. Tim's no slouch either, and I'm not trying to say he's not any of those things. I just think AA's the all around better athelete, but Tim's got brass and good skills of his own; which is why he won the last fight. It takes a lot of balls to scramble back to your feet, after you take a crushing shot on the chin, and then to stand there and throw punches of your own...and pull off the win. I didn't hold a lot of respect for Tim before that, but I do now.

I don't respect Tim at all as a person because of the things he said about LeBanner but I do respect him as a fighter now after his last fight. I talked crap on him as a fighter...I take that back but I still hate that guy.
And I still think Arlovski is overrated. I didn't think Tim would be the fighter to expose him but I obviously underestimated him. Tim will put him down again to put the "fluke" win theories to rest.
