Chris Leben vs Anderson Silva
Record: 14-1 Record: 15-4
Pick: Anderson Silva
Chris Leben has become a big name in MMA as of late. Now in the main event he will try and show why he only has 1 loss. Leben has beaten top fighters such as Mike Swick, and Jorge Rivera. Leben is a power puncher but not wild. Anderson Silva, the big signing by the UFC holds wins over Alexander Otsuka, Carlos Newton, Jeremy Horn, Lee Murray, Jorge Rivera, and Tony Fryklund. 8 of his 15 wins were by KO. This is the guy who is supposed to “Take on Franklin” but Leben wants to show other wise.
Rashad Evans vs Stephen Bonnar
Record: 9-0 Record: 12-2
Pick: Rashad Evans
Rashad Evans fight on TUF season 2 has a Heavyweight but Stephen Bonnar is no small Light Heavyweight. This is going to be a slugfest. I feel that Bonnar didn’t put his best efforts against Keith Jardine and I’m waiting to see Rashad Evans smash Bonnar.
Jonathan Goulet vs Luke Cummo
Record: 14-6 Record: 4-3
Pick: Luke Cummo
Jonathan Goulet was KO quickly in the first round by Duane “Bang” Ludwig. Luke Cummo had an impressive fight against Joe Stevenson and Jason Von Flue. I’m picking Cummo to stay calm and slow work his way to a win.
Jon Fitch vs Thiago Alves
Record: 12-2 Record: 16-3
Pick: Thiago Alves
Jon Fitch is coming off a big win over Josh Burkman but that’s about it. Thiago Alves is coming off a big win in a grudge match vs Derrick Noble. Alves is become an up and comer in the UFC, I see him taking care of Jon Fitch.
Dave Menne vs Josh Koscheck
Record: 35-5-1 Record: 8-1
Pick: Dave Menne
Return to the UFC for Dave Menne. Menne has big time experience over Josh Koscheck. Josh “The Human Blanket” Koscheck has not been impressive in the UFC and I thin this is another bad match up for him.
Brandon Lee Hinkle vs Jason Lambert
Record: 14-7 Record: 21-5
Pick: Jason Lambert
Easy pick here, Hinkle doesn’t have what it takes to be a fighter. Doesn’t put time and efftort and is out of shape. Lambert an easy win if he keeps to his game plan.
Mark Hominick vs Jorge Gurgel
Record: 10-4 Record: 12-1
Pick: Jorge Gurgel
Mark Hominick had an impressive win over Yves Edwards at UFC 58 but has lost 3 times by submission. Jorge Gurgel has had all 9 wins by submission, and will take Hominick down and should be able to submit him.
Rob MacDonald vs Kristian Rothaermel
Record: 3-2 Record: 40-4
Pick: Kristian Rothaermel
Not the greatest fight but this is Kristian’s chance to prove him self in the UFC.
Justin Levens vs Jorge Santiago
Record: 7-2 Record: 10-5
Pick: Jorge Santiago
Justin Levens is coming off two straight losses. Jorge Santiago is all around fighter who can beat Levens standing or on the ground will his fight will mostly end up.
