Default All-aboard the Anderson Silva Bandwagon...

Rather than seeing 30 different threads about him and his fight tonight, I figured it would just be easier this way. You can post here if you're joining the Anderson Silva Bandwagon...

I picked Silva to win but I didn't expect this.

"I'm gonna eat his shots and keep coming at him like a dump truck"

I love it.

Chris Leban: "After I knock him out, he might want to go to Japan where there is easier competion."

That might not be the exact wording of what he said in his prefight interview but its pretty close and it shows just how he thought he'd steamroll over Silva. I think that Silva put his stamp on the event tonight in strong fashion and, as I'm sure everyone knows, is probably going to be the next real threat to Franklin's throne.

I love it when big mouths get their mouths shut.

I'm totally down on this badwagon. Like I said in my other thread; Anderson Silva is a BAAADD man!!

Yup, I am very impressed with Silva. My favorite fighter is Franklin, and now Silva is second. 2 fights I cannot wait to see is Franklin vs Liddell or Franklin vs Silva.

Franklin vs Liddell will never happen, and since you're a Franklin fan, be glad it won't.

Never? Since Chuck can't fight at 185, can't Franklin challenge Liddell for the 205 belt?

I suppose he could. I just don't see why he ever would. There is no reason for him to move back up to 205. Especially since Chuck is the exact style of fighter that would give Rich fits.

Liddel going up to HW to fight for the belt is more likely than Rich moving up. I think it will happen too if Liddell doesn't lose his title in the next 2 or 3 defenses.

Ive been riding the bandwagon ever since I saw him pick apart Lee Murrey at Cage Rage 8, and from then on every fight Ive seen of his has been amazing (even his DQ loss at Rumble on the Rock). He's probably my favourite fighter in MMA and I cant wait to see him get to the top of the UFC ranks (although I hope he still comes back to CR!!!)

Well I gotta tell you I didn't know much about Anderson Silva. I'd heard a lot of raves about him but since I hadn't seen him fight I figured I'd throw a few hundred bucks on Leban last night. (Even though I dislike the cocky fighters). What I saw from Silva was brilliant. From the initial 2 jabs he threw at Leban I thought to myself, "This guy is special". He totally disected Leban and it appeared that he solidly landed every punch he threw. I don't know if I ever seen any fighter look that calm and composed and be that accurate in such a short time period. I don't see how you could not jump on this guys band wagon. Even though I put a few hundred on Leban I was glad to see him lose. He's too cocky for my tastes.

What makes this really intriguing for me is that my favorite fighter is Rich Franklin. And after seeing Anderson Silva fight last night I must say that Rich finally has some competition in the MW division. Whenever these two fight this could potentially be the fight of the year/decade. I love Rich to death but I'm not blind to see he's got a few holes to fill in his game.

I loved Rogans comment last night about Rich Franklin is probably headed to the gym as we speak.

Well, Silva doesn't really need a band wagon, anyone who has followed MMA for more than a few weeks should already know his name and abilities.

Nice to see another fighter of is caliber in the MW div.

I've been making noise here about Silva since the UFC first announced the signing, and I've said all along that he had Leben's number. I didn't, however, expect Leben to get rocked like that and just go floppy. I figured Silva would either cut him open and get a stoppage, or he'd outstrike Leben and win a decision. That was a beautiful thing to watch. I'm looking forward to a post-fight interview from Leben.
