Ufc vs Wfa recruits
I thinks the Ufc has some stiff competion with the WFA. Wfa is recruiting some great talents such as Lyto, Bas, Quinton, Mayhem, Ricco, and many other great fighters, is the UFC not paying enough to attract these guys or is the WFA becoming a better organization to fight in ?

WFA has very deep pockets.. the Don (Don King) is involved. Either they are jumping in too deep and will go bankrupt, are finding fighters dana has burned bridges with, or just have all around good promotors.

I think it's a little bit of the three. Or at least the first two.

I don't know if it's so much of fighters that Dana has burned bridges with. Lindland is the only one I can think of who isn't on good terms with Dana.

The WFA definitely has an awesome card coming up. They have some major talent, but only after the depth of their talent is tested after a few events can we start to consider them as legit competitors to the UFC.

I can't remember...isn't WFA the same organization that Tito Ortiz was rumored to be a big part of for a while?

Yeah, I believe Tito was rumored to be headlining their first comeback event against Frank Shamrock. That rumor wasn't around very long though.
Like the guy above said, we will know a little more about the WFA after the first event or two. Right now, the card if packed full of big names, but the depth may not be there to put on good show after good show. Also, some of the fighters in WFA may jump over to the UFC or vice versa.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on the entire situation.

UFC won't let Ortiz go again as long as he keeps selling PPVs like he has been.

I am not so sure about that, if Dana White feels his ego gets hurt by Tito then we could see Tito gone. The power of the ego is very strong.:sport-smi

It'll just come down to money. Tito decided last time that he was bigger than all of MMA and wanted to get paid more than anybody in UFC history, and he banked on the fact that they couldn't get along without him. Dana called his bluff, which led to six months of Tito spinning his wheels and talking about a bunch of deals and contracts that never materialized, before he finally agreed to come back for less money than he was originally after.
He was supposedly pushing for 300k for the Shamrock fight, and I was waiting to see who would buckle. Tito ended up getting 200k, so there's your answer. If a point comes where he takes another stand and demands more than the UFC is willing to pay him, I can see him going away again.

I had no clue that Don King was getting involved in the mma community. I, personally, dont think that a person like Don King is good for the sport. I've seen how his influence has been with boxing and I really wish he had nothing to do with mma at all.

Amen, Jras0001. If there's a petition, I'll sign it. Don King is trouble.

Don King = Trouble. That said, I'm really disappointed that Dana White didn't go out and get all of these "free agents" that the WFA got. Take all of the WFA's good fighters; which is about all of them, and put them into the UFC. Can you see how incredibly stacked the UFC gets?

Well, Dana White may know something we don't know.
Honestly, Ricco Rodriguez and Ron Waterman are past their prime. Rodriguez still has some good years left if he gets back in shape like he was as UFC HW champ. However, I'm not sure if he is back in shape or not. He sure wasn't in his last fight.
Rampage may be past his prime as well, although a Rampage/Liddell fight would still be great for any organization.
Machida and Lindland could both be used effectively in the UFC, but other than, I really don't want to see any other WFA fighters make the jump.
Then again, I'll probably think differently after watching the event. I may want to see all of them make the jump.

They may be past their prime, but the UFC isn't exactly stacked with depth either, barring the WW and LW divisions. A lot of those guys could make some noise; especially Rampage and Lindland. Honestly, I think Waterman and Ricco could too. Just my thoughts.

Dana had Lindland, and he stupidly showed him the door. Matt fought hard and posted a winning record and showed total loyalty to the UFC, despite being visibly annoyed that he kept getting passed over for a title shot even when it was publicly promised to him.
White figures Matt wasn't marketable because he's not a pretty face and body like Rich Franklin, and he's not a scary knockout artist like Liddell and Arlovski. But I believe that his win-loss record and the percentage of fights that he's finished squashes any "lay & pray" argument.
After putting away MVA so decisively, if Matt can beat Rampage the WFA is going to be very happy they've got him, and Dana will hopefully realize he made a mistake by screwing Matt out of his title shot. And if he asks him to come back, I hope Matt flips him off.
