Tim Sylvia vs. The pride heavyweights

I think he is boring, but the only facts are he has beaten everyone he has faced except Mir. And he was pissed that the fight was stopped. I think his size creates a problem for everyone. Fedor included. Im not saying he would beat Fedor so just calm down. I do think he has a shot against everyone out there. And about his ground game, someone has to get him there first. He has great takedown defense. I just think calling the guy a bum is outta line. He can only beat the guys he fights!! What elsedo you want the guy to do??

I was impressed by Sylvias assessments of his matchups with the 3 top guys in pride.

V cro-cop...Tim noted that his size would largely negate mirko's ability to kick to the head and his reach advantage would pose matchup problems. Does that mean he beats Cro-Cop....of course not...but it does mean he understands what he would need to do to win that fight. Of course I think Mirko would wear him down with leg kicks and then knock him out ( but remember, that was arlovski's plan as well).

V nog. Tim would be in the cage and we have seen how he uses (abuses) that to avoid take downs....does anyone think nog would win if he could not take sylvia down?

V fedor....I think he was overreaching on this one. Fedor is simply the man and I would be shocked to see tim last more than 1 round against him...but I still like his confidence.

From steroids, to style, to bravado....sylvia is not a very likeable champ...but that does not mean he is a bum...he is not. If you think he is....I think you are thinking more with emotion than reason.

Mirko didnt have a problem kicking Aleksander Emelianenko in the head and sherdog lists him at 6 feet 6 inches tall.

Nog has great boxing ability i think he could def stand with Tim but he would take him down.

Fedor would hit him with a lead right, if that didnt knock him down then he would judo toss him and pound him until it was stopped or he give up a sub.

Let's not call any fighter a bum. I don't like Sylvia one bit but I know he's no bum. Yeah maybe he's outclassed by the top 3 guys and of course you can use the line "anything can happen" but on paper Tim wouldn't favor any of those fights.

its so funny to me that everyone counts Tim out before he even gets into the ring. does he have the skills to beat the Top 3 in PrideFC? who knows since he has'nt yet had the opportunity. are his skills limited to striking? thats doubtful as well, but its really the only skill he's had to use to beat his opponents. its pretty much a given that he has a sound ground game since he does train at Militech. my question is, What are all you Tim Sylvia haters going to do if Tim does get his hands on some Pride fighters and wins? he does have wins over Assuerio Sylva and Ricco Rodriguez, both guys who fought in Pride and did well. so what if Tim beats CroCop? is it going to be like the Arlovski episode again? everyone making excuses for CroCop and still firmly believing that CroCop is the more skilled fighter. you guys can bash Tim all you want, i don't care and Tim Sylvia sure does'nt care. if he's an underdog the rest of his life he will use it to fuel his desire to win. i personally would'nt be surprised to see Tim beat any of PrideFC's heavyweights and that includes Fedor. its MMA and no one is unbeatable.

i will give him all the credit in the world.......the day he beats Fedor or Cro-Cop. I dont knock the guy. he beats everyone they put in front of him. i just enjoy seeing a true mixed martial artist fight and i have yet to see that from Tim. its a credit to him that he can dictate his fights but i wanna see this ground game that everyone assume he has. hell im not even that impressed with his strike. what he can do he does very well but iwouldnt even consider him a great striker. hes to slow and uncoordinated for me. he throws strait punches well, thats it.

Uh... Tim Sylvia would lose to all the top PRIDE heavyweights including Fabricio Werdum, Sergei Kharitonov, Murilo Rua, and Aleksander Emelianenko. The only heavyweights he could beat in PRIDE are Wagner De Conceicao Martins and maybe Semmy Schildt. He's awesome for a UFC drought heavyweight division though.

im no sylvia fan but people forget its mma anything can happen, no he isnt as skilled as fedor or cro cop, but he still could knock them out, bottom line, he has the power too, doesnt mean he would win or that he wouldnt, dont be so stubborn to realise that he obviously has some skills. and pride43 dont be so cocky with your predictions, like i said its mma, not always the better fighter wins.

I also dislike these PRIDE fans how they trash UFC. Like he said Tim could actually beat Fedor and Crocop no joke. Anything could happen. He beat Ricco Rodriguez, who beat Ron Waternan who is pretty dominant in PRIDE with those keylocks. And Wanderlei is 1-2 in UFC. So anything can happen in Tim Sylvia fighting a dominant fighter in the UFC octagon. Just like how Chuck is fighting Wanderlei. I don't know why so many are underestimating Chuck. I think he will win because Wanderlei sucks in UFC.

Whats up split personalities much? Yes anything could happen. Sure, Tim could pull a shocker and beat Fedor. Is it likely though? Not really. I can say Ken-Flo would knock out Fedor and use the argument "Nuh-uh, anything can happen" And your "Wanderlei sucks in the UFC" argument is silly. Why does he suck in the UFC because he lost to Vitor and Tito well over 5 or 6 years ago? Let's use less MMAth.

I am not a fan of Sylvia either and he doesn't look coordinated.. but he gets the job done with strong punches. I don't think any of these fighters have Cabbage-like jaws. Sylvia lands a hard punch on anyone--it will be lights out.. If Sylvia fought Fedor ten times I think he could win one time. BUT, all it takes it that time to occur.

thats how i see it but i think Tim could win 2 maybe 3 times outta ten fights with Fedor. i personally dont like Tim at all but all this Tim bashin is making me want him to fight and beat one of the Pride top dogs.

i dont know but i have a plate and screws in my wrist. got my wrist fused and it is painful if i hit something the wrong way so i figure his leg hurt when he goes for those leg kicks or checks leg kicks.
