Who should Shamrock fight
Assuming he doesnt retire.
i put it in another thread but i think him vs the winner of Griffin/Bonner would be a really nice match. i think he would beat Bonner and i think him and Forrest would be a very entertaining fight that could go either way. anyone else agree. any insight.

i hope he retires. i dont think hes all that marketable anymore. a rematch with royce gracie might be interesting but i dont think they could get in the same weightclass.

I think they could easily fight in the same class, LHW, with Royce weighing in at 186 and Shamrock at 205. I'm rather interested in this match. Also Shamrock vs Bas. No current fighters though.

a rocking chair, Shamrock is all done. retirement comes to everyone eventually and its time for Shamrock to go. his only other option is to go to the lower promotions like KOTC and have a rematch with Dan Severn. i am a big fan of Ken Shamrock but its time for him to step out of the light.

shamrock should only fight another "legend"....translation: over the hill guy who we remember being great.
Shamrock, Gracie have both been exposed. They were great in their day, but their day is over.
I would most like to see him retire. But if he must fight, have it against another old school guy like Bas or whatever.

i already said it in the thread and i stang by it. i think Sham could beat Bonner. do you guys think Bonner would beat Ken. PghPens71 obviously thinks Bonner would win but i personally think Forrest and Bonner are good matchups for ken. Forrest would more then likely want to strike with Ken and from what i've seen Forrest does not have knock out power so him fighting Ken could be a boxing match. and Bonner is a good ground game fighter but rarely utilizes his skills Ken is dangerous when you leave a body part hanging out Bonner could easily get his leg snapped agianst Shamrock.

Shamrock should fight...Herb Dean! Lol just kidding. I think he should fight in PRIDE against Mark Coleman and have his career ended in a minute or in UFC should fight in one last match against some guy on Ultimate Fighter 3 on the Ortiz team like Bisping, Abaddi (he talked crap about Shamrock lol). Shamrock should just retire already because he's getting annoying and letting people down by losing 10 straight matches. He has only one win in four years against a roided freak, thats it. Its annoying, he would lose to Bonnar obviously by TKO or submission. Shamrock is washed end of story.

what makes you say he would lose to Bonnar obvioulsy. i havent seen any thing in Bonnar's game that suggest he would kill Shamrock. and even though Tito dominated the fight agianst Ken its absurd to think he cant compete because he's 'old'. the guy is in great physical condition and would pose a threat to many of the UFC fighters currently active. guys who would obvously beat Ken are Babalou, Tito, Lidell, Ace, Crow guys like that. Bonnar isnt one of those guys. and Forrest would prolly win a decision by out striking Ken. just my opioin i guess. but i've seen people bashing Ken alot lately with no real substance behind there arguements. yeah he got beat bad and quick. but he got beat bad and quick by one of the top 3 LHW's in the UFC. if Rashad Evans dominated Shamrock like Tito did then yeah i'd say he's about done. but it was Tito Ortiz who did it.

i dont see how a thread like this could degenerate into an insulting, ******** thread such as it has become
this is pretty crappy folks, maybe you might want to raise the bar a little bit out of simple respect for a guy that has put in more work to raise his family than you probably ever will

with that being said id like to see ken vs tito III just for my own entertainment lol

Last night I watched him fight Franklin again and I just have to say that Shamrock should NOT fight anyone else. Once he is taken down it's over for Ken. He just can't defend himself any more on the ground.. he will continue to loose if he decides to fight. I've been a big fan of Shamrock for many years.. and he just needs to retire... it's done it's over.. put a fork in him he is overcooked.

thanks for your two cents... if someone carries themselves like a cocky SOB and MMA fans who pay their own "work" and money to pay it, they sure can voice their opinion...
as i stated before i have little respect for ken... a guy who shows his own highlight reel to the TUF fighters for their practice... and they thought the same as i did....
hes gotta stop refering to himself as a hall of famer... in all reality while being a mild to strong fighter, hes lost every big fight hes gotten in the last 12 years.... besides longetivity, i think he has next to nothing...
on a side note, please dont refer to anyones work that they put in to me or anyone on this board about how much work they put in to raise their familes, thanks.

no i think ill continue to do so in defense of any fighter that receives this kind of disrespect from fans
you paying their checks does not give you license to disrespect a fighter at all
its like football boosters thinkin they own a star ball player just because they paid for the facilities
Hes doin what he can to raise his family and train his fighters, nothing wrong with sayin the man is over the hill, hell i love the guy and im kinda hopin that hed retire, but if he doesnt that doesnt give you, the fan, any right to be so virulent towards him
let the man eat, im sure UFC pensions are alot worse than their pay

you are in the minority if you think that my friend... your example is poor, a better one is if you buy a ticket to a baseball game you dont have the right to be negative to the players?? i think there are very few people who would disagree with that...
lol and im SURE he has enough money to eat... i have been very very unimpressed with his career...
what the heck has he done in the last 12 years? not a thing whatsoever... he beat guys that had no idea what they were doing in the early 90s! im not impressed, if he still continues to be so cocky about i hope he doesnt retire and continues to get embarrassed by guys like tito... i am not unintelligently bashing a fighter, i really dont believe he has done much, if you disagree please site examples, but thats my opinion and i stand by it

I think Ken will be remembered more for the fact that he was one of the first guys to be in the UFC rather than for his fighting ability... that said I think he did quite well if I recall during those early UFC's.
As for his recent performances, I think he should retire but if he still enjoys what he does and the UFC or another organization is willing to let him continue to fight, then that's up to him. Randy Couture, Bernard Hopkins (boxing) are recent examples of how age doesn't necessarily have to be a factor, however in Ken's case I believe it is.

the thing is i understand people not thinking he has the ability to win in the Octogon but i keep seeing people refer to him getting beat by Tito and Rich Franklin. those are arguably two of the best guys in the Sport. if he got handled by a lesser fighter then ok have your way with him. its like someone saying oh Iron Mike knocked that dude out what a scrub. its not a soild arguement to me for why he should recieve such hate. i say let him fight one of the up and comers and if he gets beat then he should retire no doubt in my mind. personally i'd like to see him fight one of the guys from TUF. the only guy from TUF i think will beat him is Forrest Griffin and i dont think it will be a wash i think that would be one hell of a fight. Maybe Rashad Evans would be him but i can see Ken submitting Evans. he's still and intriging draw and untill i see him get handled by someone who doesnt handle 95 percent of the comp thrown in front of him im gonna continue to analyze his ability. i dont think some of you are analyzing his ability i think some of you are analyzing his character theres the difference im waiting to see in someones anti Ken post.
