Did Forest Deserve To Lose To Ortiz?
I just watched the forrest and ortiz fight and i dont think that tito beat him. They had one judge that scored the bout 30-27 ortiz 29-28 forest 29-27 forest. wth that was some crappy judging. I think that forest was good enough to keep ortiz standing, when was the last time that anybody has done that? Plus ortiz was not pushing the fight forest landed more shots than ortiz. In my opinion ortiz lost the match via split decision. Forest lost the first round and that was it for me. I would like to hear your opnions about this, I dont like ortiz so i might just be bias at the situation.:sport-smi

Yes, I think if he could have fought off that last take down. The judges would have given the dicision to him.

what rounds do you think that ortiz won? because he couldnt take forest in the 2 round at all and the third round when he finally got him to the ground forest got up quick and he landed shots from the ground, whereas tito did not land that good of shots so i would give forest octagon control for those two round and he was the predator the last two rounds. the only time that ortiz was, was when he tried the take down and forest stopped that, like i said i am biased

I have always liked Forrest, he fought a good fight with Tito. I think it was correct judging, for Tito to win the decision.

has anybody ever seen tito fight. he was so far off his game in that fight. he knew that he lost if you watch the very end of the fight when he jumps on the cage he didnt do his victory dance he shrugged his shoulders at the audience as to say sorry for the terrible fight that i put up

tito won! this has been talked about in countless other threads.... he creamed him in round 1 so bad that 1 judge gave him a 10 8 round... lost round 2 10 to 9... then all 3 judges had tito in round 3 because forest caused NO damage... big deal he got up from a takedown, he got takendown, just getting up wont win you a round... forest said he lost because of that, and i agree... he is content with it yet other people on message boards dont seem to be

What's this big announcement Dana White is going to make about Royce and Matt Hughes? Just kidding, but it does seem we are getting a bit mired.

I just watched the fight again and if i had to score it, it would be a for sure draw 10-8 9-10 9-10 the take down in round three barley did any damage for tito and forrest was giving back elbows on his back.

Ortiz won the fight fair and square. I will say one thing Griffen gave and "unexpected" run for his money. I am willing to bet after the fight Ortiz had a lot more respect for Griffen. Griffen is just paying some dues, he will be one of the top conteders in UFC when his time comes and if he keeps up the hard work.

Straffe, nobody argues the first two rounds. We all agree, R1 to Tito, R2 to Forrest.
Round 3 is where the argument starts. If you are fighting from your back, the judges usually don't give you 100% credit for elbows and punches landed from that position. The dominant position always wins in this circumstance.

Yeah it was close but Tito was so completely dominant in that first round and the third was tight enough to give Tito the victory.
Forrest (or Forrest fans) shouldn't complain - he got the close decision over Bonnar. And Bonnar (or Bonnar fans) shouldn't complain - since he got the decision over Jardine. It's the circle of UFC life.

Tito was overwhemling in the first. It was much closer in the second than people are giving credit for,but Forrest did get it.The third wasn't dominant, but Tito definitely won it.Forrest was able to sprawl very well against Tito, but he just wasn't able to amount any offense.Tito did more damage to Forrest in the first round than Forrest did to Tito in the whole fight.Forrest impressed me,but he's got alot of growing to do.In a few years I think he'll be able to beat Tito, but Tito undoubtedly won that fight.
