shamrock vs ortiz III?
i just read this at sherdog, is this rumor or is there any truth behind this. Honestly i would like to see shamrock beat him, but this is not the 90's so there is no chance, it will end the same way.:sport-smi

"Ortiz.....would most likely not be interested in fighting on a UFC Fight Night card."
So if there is a 3rd, it will most likely be on ppv...........

I wouldn't mind seeing a third fight. I just don't want to suffer through all the rediculous hype again. Anyone who doesn't know these two hate each other needs to crawl out from under that rock. I'd still rather see them both fight someone else.

*sigh* I hoped Shammy would "cash-in his chips" and retire already before making himself look any worse. A shamrock/ortiz 3 would be awful since we already know what the outcome will be.
If it does happen, i'd say the best we could hope for is ken FINALLY getting serious in his psysical/mentel training again, and putting up a respectable effort against ortiz. As opposed to getting taken out in the first round with very little effort by tito.

I dont think there is anything that shamrock could do at this point in his career, He would have to train like a maniac (no pun intended) to just keep ortiz from taking him down. He will lose for sure

I dont think Id mind watching a third fight between these two, and if it was part of a ppv, I wouldnt have much problems buying it. I just dont want to see it as hyped as last time and have it as the main or co-main event. If it was the very first fight of the night, that would be fine with me. If this were to happen, I bet it would happen sooner than later since Tito wants another fight before he fights Chuck.

I know Tito has to wait until next year to fight Chuck but what good would this really be for his career. If he wins no one would be surprised and if he somehow lost then he would have to fight him again immediately for revenge. This is no win for him and a waste of time.

I agree it wouldn't help his career, but considering he has a guaranteed title shot as far as i know, his career doesn't need much help right now. I don't see how it's a no win situation for him when he can pull in another huge paycheck and have the chance to beat the **** out of the person he hates most in the world.

Oh come on so predictable. Tito will beat him to oblivion. Shamrock is just on drugs and wants "respect" which he doesn't deserve after only one win since 2002 against a roided freak. Boo is all I could say and I will not watch this unless there are way better fights on the card for this PPV or even maybe TV event.

Yeah Tito would just be taking the easy way out too. If he agreed to fight shamrock again, he'll be letting his skills rust by taking all these easier fights. First forrest, then ken, and ken again?
I'd imagine once the time comes for him to fight chuck, the iceman will run right over him just as easily as he did to shamrock. He just won't be able to shift from fighting low calibur opponents-to-a Top Tier Liddel right off the bat.
Whereas if he went on to fight Higher-calibur opponents on his way to Chuck, building himself up, when the time comes he'll be ready and more prepared after all that. However, if he chooses this half-assed route he might be setting himself up for the fall.
Its the basic concept of ring rust. If a guy does'ent fight enough, or just does'ent fight the right guys, he'll be tottally unprepared when faced with a HUGE challenge.

If they have a third fight they should have no ref and make it a fight to the death so that way there is no chance in hell for an Ortiz vs. Shamrock IV.
