Now I don't usually buy the ppv's but I would pay 100 ez for this card.
now somebody wake me out of dreamland and back to the reality of 1-2 decent fights per card.

I think that the UFC would win 4 out of 5 of those matches. I just dont see Tim beating Fedor even with Tim's reach advantage. That reach won't do him much good when he's being tied into a knot on the ring / octagon floor.
Also, when Wandi fights Chuck, it's for the UFC LHW title....but if Chuck wins, will he take Wandi's LHW title from him? Is it a belt unification type of match or is it only for the UFC title?

Wow... that would be incredible if we had a Pride vs. UFC event... my mind would explode!
Unfortunately I don't catch that much Pride so I can't give a balanced opinion as to who would come out on top in the respective divisions. I will say though that it would be awesome to see.
As for filling up a 60-100k stadium? I don't think that would happen - remember when the UFC was in the Staples Centre with a capactiy of 21k? There were quite a few empty seats in the arena. The Pride pres is delusional if he thinks he can get 60k ppl in there.
... I wonder if this would open the door to a Pride vs. UFC videogame

I believe that it is just for the UFC title because they are fighting in the cage and not the ring. I agree that the UFC will be able to hold onto 4/5 belts.

Besides Fedor 's W over Tim, Franklin will KO Shogun, Hughes over powered Henderson, Liddell decisioned over Wanderlei, and even thou BJ is not one of my favorite fighter, I see a quick KO over Gomi. So, as far as Pride taking over the UFC, dream on ..

I don't think the Wandy/Liddell fight is for any title. What if Chuck loses, and Wanderlei defends the title twice? Does he have to keep fighting in UFC?

didn't dana say the wanderlai fight is on ONLY if chuck successfully defends vs babalu?
i dunno about hughes overpowering dan henderson, who is a two time wrestling olympian with a very strong overhead right. i've seen dan escape many submission attempts by a bigger, and perhaps the best submission fighter in pride, nogueria. i see that fight as a coin toss.

Excellent point. They're fighting under UFC rules, which are quite different than Pride. How could they award the Pride title for a non-Pride rules fight?

Keep in mind that Dan Henderson fights in Pride's WW and MW divisions. That is the 185 and 205 pound divisions. I don't think Dan Henderson could get down to 170 pounds. He is already a big 185-pounder at 6 foot 2 or however tall he is.
This news just pumps me up. I'm not going to sit here and say the UFC will win this, and Pride will win this. Both organizations have GREAT fighters, and nobody knows what would happen until the fights happen. I'll be cheering for the UFC guys 110%, and that's what is going to make all this so much fun to watch.
The Pride fans will be on one side, and the UFC guys will be on the other. We will just cheer for our respective sides and witness a ton of great fights in the process. It's great for the fans, and that's what matters.
The UFC isn't going to get shut down by Pride, and Pride isn't going to get shut down by the UFC. They both have too many great fighters for that to happen.
This just helps the world of MMA, and I can't wait to see some of the fights happen.

this is something i will believe when i see it. i am probably the only one who thinks this, but i really want to see Fedor vs. Sylvia. Fedor has beaten everyone worth mentioning over in Pride and Tim has been running his mouth over here so i say finish it in the Ring/Cage and give everyone a conclusive answer. one thing is certain, if this happens it will make alot of money for both promotions.

I like UFC alot more then Pride but I would LOVE to see both promotions go at it (maybe even a fight between dana and sakakibara ). I have always wondered how the UFCs top fighters would do against Prides and vice versa.

I dig the UFC, but that may simply be due to a limited exposure to Pride. But honestly I don't care who wins what, I just want to see these fights, and will pay to do so.

I think I'm one of the few who actually like Dana, but I see the cat tucking tail and bailing on this idea in an instant if Chuck loses.

Fedor over Sylvia almost definitely, we've had that discussion before. Liddell-Silva could go either way. I haven't seen much of Henderson, but Franklin has run through a lot of sick sick opponents and his training regiment is amazing. I'd have to vote for him. I don't see anyone beating Hughes or GSP, they're monsters and Pride doesn't have that division so that's a disadvantage right there. Unless Penn or Pulver have the LW belt, i see Gomi taking that one with ease. If one of them does, that's my vote for fight of the night. Maybe if Sherk has a chance to get some LW experience i'd throw him in there too.

Yeah I won't mind paying 40 bucks to see Dana getting in on with Sakakibara

ME TOO!!! White used to box and i believe he still does for a hobby. I would have my money on White. But Sakakibara could be a "hidden" Jet Li........ WATCH OUT!!!!
