Am I the only one here that can't seem to understand what in the world you people are talking about when you refer to Diego's attitude? What attitude? Should he walk around with his humble head down and just, you know, say "Hmm, it's great being number 4, oh my bad, I meant number 5 - that Matt Hughes, so full of himself with that belt. He should share." Come on people. The attitude argument simply comes from one who has not watched much of any combat sports - kickboxing, mma, boxing, etc... To voice that you feel yourself to be the best in your respective division is very common. Also take into consideration that he desires a title shot.

Oh, so no one here gets me all wrong, I am not Mexican and Sanchez's is not my all time fav, no I do not have any of his posters on my wall.

I have to admit, I was a doubter before last night. I was totally impressed by his stamina, his ground game, his strikes, and his fierceness in the octagon. It is amazing how he could lgo from looking so bad in his last fight to looking like a legit contender for the belt last night.

Props to Diego, but I think Hughes or GSP are still a notch above him.

I still don't like the guy......But I respect the Hell outta him for the amount of talent he's developed. I honestly can't place my finger on it....but he just rubs me the wrong way, same as Leben, Koschek, Riggs, Sylvia and Mir do. It's just that smug arrogance that they seem to have.
To be fair, I don't really like Hughes or Liddell all that much either, for similar reasons....LOL

Personally, I'm a bigger fan of fighters like Couture, GSP, Franklin, Babalu, Loiseau...who are alittle less mouthy & a good deal more humble, with less attitude.

But like I said....I respect the dude for his obvious skills.....
Diego, Riggs, Koschek and Leben.....don't like any of'em, but they all still impressed me last night.

Why would "hating" a fighter stop, because he wins? I don't stop hating ManU just because they win...

He's a tough fighter and I respect him even more after the Karo-fight. He's dorky tho, and I hope his next fight is against GSP/Hughes/BJ and he gets his undef. record smashed. Otherwise, I just might cry. lol

Hey its not Diego's fault that Jesus chose to help him in his match, instead of some little kid somewhere dying of cancer

I'm somewhat of a Diego fan, ever since he whopped Koscheck in TUF1. And especially after he handed Nick Diaz his ass earlier.

Koscheck and Lil'Nicky, two pricks that needed to get their ass kicked and Diego delivered...

....with a little help from Jesus

I don't "hate" the guy, I'm just not a fan. I think, everyone is more irritated at the fact that he is cocky and undefeated. As far as him being a fighter, I totally respect his skills in the cage.

I could not of been more impressed with Diego last night. The first 2 rounds were so well fought by both fighters that I would of walked away satisfied with them (and I had it a draw at that point, slight edge to Karo in the first, slight to Sanchez in the second). In the 3rd round we got to see why Diego is a potential champion. His cardio, will and skill were amazing. He wore Karo down and dominated him. I still think the champ (hughes or GSP) would be a deserved favorite against him. But I would not put money down. This was one of the best MMA matches I have seen, and the fact that Diego dominated the last round means to me he has what it takes to win the belt.

My condolences to Karo, he did not fall in my eyes, he fought well, those throws were amazing. But he was eventually worn down by a stronger and better conditioned opponent.

This was THE test for Sanchez and he aced it.

Well, up until last night, I'd not been impressed with Diego. I think up until last night he's beaten lack-luster competition and even then didn't demonstrate world class skills, but last night Diego looked the part. I still don't like him, but I was impressed with his fighting abilities last night, and will stop arguing that he's not any good because he is. I think he may have finally arrived on the big screen. I think Matt Hughes would own him, as with GSP, but he's definetly right up there.

Diego may have a long time too wait for a WW title shot. TUF4 WW winner gets the next shot after Hughes vs St. Pierre i think.

i dont think he will ever be a title holder. he just does not have it in him to be that good of a fighter. he is awesome dont get me wrong but hughes or gsp would hurt him badly

He's better at 24 than Hughes was,by the time he's 30 he'll be a monster. He's driven and he learns and progresses quickly.

its funny to me how Diego gets so much hate for his attitude but someone like Matt Hughes is so wildly loved. i think its because people regard Matt Hughes as the best and not Diego. if he was the WW title holder then people wouldnt bash him so much for being honest. i love his attitude because i know when ever he enters the octagon he's gonna put in the work to win the fight. i cant say that about alot of fighters.

I dont know about that. I bet that people would be just as turned off by his smuggness and "greater than thou art" attitude. He comes off as ingenuine, cocky, and generally goofy in almost all of his interviews. I think he is a talented fighter, I think he did a great job against the people he has faces thus far, but, I am not a fan. There is just something that rubbs me the wrong way every time I hear him say something. I respect his ability but not the person.

The difference between those two is, that Diego is dorky. Or as Rogan put it, a "wacky character".

The belt wouldn't change a thing.

I could see Diego winning the belt some day. But not today. He needs to develop his standup before he can compete with the top guys.

Not sure I agree that he's cocky... In the MMA world, he believes in himself a little more than others, per his pre-fight interviews.

If you'll notice, though, in his post-fight interviews he always thanks the troops and calls them the real heros and gladiators. That's pretty much being humble knowing who really battles for their occupation. Or, maybe I'm biased being a vet.
