I always knew Diego was top level material. I hope this impressive defeat of Karo finally proves that to all the Diego doubters/haters. Hughes? GSP? get ready, 'The Nightmare' is coming for you!

I was never I hater...just wasn't quite convinced.

I still feel he needs one more match before he gets a title shot, maybe the winner of St. Pierre vs. Hughes. Though I would like to see GSP win, I'd like to see him face Matt for the title. If he's the best in the world at 170, as he claims to be, then he should be able to beat the top 2 guys in the welterweight division.

That was a great fight. The entire fight card was good. I think Diego is ready for Penn, and then maybe he will take on a GSP or Hughes match.

Yeah, that's probably what they will end up doing. Sanchez vs. Penn and then the winner of that will face the winner of Hughes/GSP for the title.

agreed, he needs to fight the prodigy before getting thrown to the fences. Don't get me wrong it was a great bout, but i want to see more then just his GNP to win decisions.

side note... Weren't those takedowns sick? How many people want to learn Judo now?

I sure hope so. And hopefully the two losers of those fights square off. That would be outstanding too.

I am now officaily convinced with Diego. He should fight BJ next and then title shot. I did die a little inside when I heard 30-26.... I believe Karo won round one.
Great fight it was congrats to Diego. Those judo throws were sick yeah.

I thought the fight was awesome. I think Diego's standup has improved alot since some of his earlier fights. The possibility of him facing BJ Penn really excites me. Id pay to see that on a ppv. BJ Penn's takedown defense is extremely good and I wonder how Diego would deal with that.

I guess I will be the first to say........Yes, I am still a 'hater'.

It isn't his fighting that bugs me, it's just him. I was certain Karo was going to school him today, but I was wrong, great fight though.

I guess we will see now what the UFC does with him, a title shot? Maybe, Penn? He's a good fighter, he's proven it.

That doesn't mean I have to like him.

Damn. How many scrubs is Diego going to plow right through before they give him a real challenge??

First Diaz and now Karo? Pffft scubtacular. One day his easy ride is going to end.

I hope thats sarcasm.

I have to admit I gained a lot of respect for Diego, still not a fan of him as a person, mainly due to his I don't talk I fight attitude which somehow included talking more then anyone else except maybe Tito, but the man showed he was a tough mofo tonight, and pounded the hell out of the heat at the end there, if there were 12 more seconds, it would have been a referee stoppage.

Wait a minute guys, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I have just remembered that Penn is a lightweight fighter now, is he not?

I don't think that has been confirmed, I thought it was just something Joe mentioned as a possibility to add to the stacked LW division

Yes he is.

A LW, and a WW, and a MW.
