It will still be a while before Diego gets a shot
Yes I'll admit I was wrong about Diego, and although I still am not a fan of his I respect him as a fighter. However even if this made him the "number one contender" hes still going to be waiting a while before he gets his shot. With Hughes v. St. Pierre at 63 and the winner of TUF 4 getting a title shot he could still potentialy be 3-4 fights away from his shot. If GSP beats Hughes you know there going to do the rubber match right away and the winner of TUF 4 will most likely get there shot after that. The way I see it I wouldnt be suprised to see the UFC try to set up Sanchez vs. Penn to declare the number 1 contender. Is Penn deserving maybe, maybe not. However thats probably the only fight BJ would be interested in because it gets him another shot at a belt. Any thoughts.....

I think even Diego himself, thinks he is not yet ready anyway. With his reluctance to joe rogan's answer on wheither he wanted a title shot.
Needs more fights first.

i'd love to see bj fight diego. another upset in store i would think. however maybe sanchez has done enough to shake off the underdog status he had pre-karo fight.

koshcheck? he has improved a lot but NO WAY does he deserve a fight with sanchez, or is he in the same league as him. diego would destroy him. also i think it would be disrespectful to diego for him to face josh koshcheck after defeating karo parisyan.

diego fought koshcheck on the reality series and it was diego's toughest fight. plus i think koshcheck has improved overall more than diego since the show. so now it should be an even tougher fight. remember koshcheck was very new to mma when he was on the show. koshcheck is definately in diego's league. but i would still lean towards a win for diego.

How can you say he has improved more then Diego when Diego is now ranked 4th by most? Diego might not be ready for Hughes' level but Kos is definitely not ready for Deigo's level.

if i was Diego and they told me i had to fight Koscheck i'd spit in Dana Whites face and walk out of the UFC. at this point when your that close to the title you only fight people who are around your level to seperate from the elite. Fighing Koscheck would do nothing good for Diego and do nothing but Good for Kos. thats a terrible fight matchup. even if the fight would be exciting and it could be a close fight. i think Koscheck would do well agianst Diego even though i think he would lose his style is a nice match up for him

Koschek makes no sense as an opponent for Sanchez. By beating Karo (who most people regarded as number 3 or 4 in the division) and being undefeated. Only 3 fights make any sense, those are Penn, Hughes, GSP. Since Hughes is already going to fight GSP, Penn makes the most sense right now. Though if we wait a bit any of those opponents may be available to Sanchez.
Koschek lost to Diego on the show, Koschek lost in the UFC. Though he may have improved enough to give Diego a good fight, he certainly has not earned the position that Diego has with his undefeated record and win against Parysian.

Diego has had one real fight in the UFC and that was this last fight with Karo. Is he good ? Yes.. does he deserve a title shot.. No, not now.. he has to win some more fights with some talent.. other fighters that are considered to be contenders for the belt.
He has to fight BJ Penn before he can get a title shot.. In My Opinion..
