Lightbulb UFC All Access: Babalu

Tonight on Spike TV they will be showing the new UFC All Access episode dedicated to Renato "Babalu" Sobral. The last All Access for Tito Ortiz was really good. So, I hope that they do as well for Babalu as they did for Tito. For anyone that is not familiar with Babalu, check this out. It is only 30 minutes long, but it is worth a look. I am hoping that they show Babalu's fight training and conditioning. I want to see who he is training with to prepare for Sobral-Liddell 2. I am really looking forward to that fight.

Me too, me too. I'm excited about seeing Liddell back in the cage, and after ten straight (impressive) wins, there's no one at 205 in the UFC who's more ready for him than Babalu. Should be a really exciting fight.

Yeah the preview for it looked really good. On his website, Babalu said he's been training with Big Nog, among others.

Very good point...Babalu's got the talent and he definitely proved cage worthy to be in there with Chuck, but I don't know...I think it's gonna come down to who wants it worse...not gonna bet on this fight, I want Chuck to win because he's got the heart and skill...but a loss to Sobral will prove that anything can happen in MMA and it's really any man's fight.

Looking forward to the fight and the special on TV tonight. I also enjoyed the Tito one. The Rich Franklin was impressive too! When you see what goes into a training regime you really have a better idea if the fighter has a chance. The Ken Shamrock one was a joke. Ken strikes me as the kind of fighter who works out and wanders a gym and stares at himself in the mirror in between sets. His all access was boring.

Because he helped to train the Brazilian Olympic wrestling team, and was offered a spot on the team. His wrestling is just as good,if not better, than Randy's.He is also younger and more athletic than Randy was when he fought Chuck.

He beat Horn,Shogun, and Prangley in the same night. And Shogun is probably a more dangerous striker than Chuck.

The last time they fought Chuck threw up an ugly kick and Babalu ducked right into it.

Babalu is an entirely different fighter since he changed teams, and I'm not expecting a flash KO from Chuck this time around.Chuck will be working his butt off all night.

I have to agree. Babalu is definately younger than Randy Couture. The Natural may have more wrestling skills than Babalu, but I would say that Babalu might very well have a better ground game over all considering his BJJ skills, his grappling, and his submission fighting. Randy is probably better at takedowns than Babalu, but I still think that Babalu can take The Iceman down.

Can Babalu keep Liddell down? That is a big question. Horn and Randy both had trouble getting a takedown much less keeping Liddell down. The Iceman has been perfecting that bounce back up technique. Can Babalu keep Liddell from standing up?

What I want to know, is why is Randy trying to keep Chuck on Matt? Does Matt know this? Which Matt are we talking about here? Hamel or Hughes?

Anyways, enough being a smart ass. How did Babalu's All Access compare o the others? It was the first I was able to watch.

We found out that Babalu trains in the amazonian jungle with monkeys and a young man named Pele,he enjoys yoga, and he drinks alot of Xyience. In his spare time he teaches beautiful young Brazillian women to surf.Did I mention Rachelle is hot?

Seriously though he trains like an animal. He said when he wakes up the first thing he does is watch the DVD of Chuck KOing him.He trains in seclusion, and looked in phenominal shape. He is beyond focused, and that is why he'll defeat Chuck with a flying heel hook.

One thing I've noticed is that when Chuck gets up off the mat after a takedown, he leaves himself kind of exposed. If he pulls that with Babalu, I see a rear naked choke in Chuck's future. But I'd prefer to see that flying heel hook

I think Babalu has looked the most focused of anyone on All Access. In a somewhat crazy kind of way. But hey, whatever works. I still think Rich Franklin has the craziest work out of any of them.

BABALU WANTS TO KILL CHUCK!

the man is a freaking animal, his workout is prolly more grueling than Rich's. Plus he has that pychotic look in his eye. Man i am pumped, I am still torn though. I love Babalu, but Chuck is my man.

This is one of those fights that I really would like to see both guys win. I'm a big fan of both fighters. I love watching both of them fight. Chuck because at any moment he can knock your head off and Babalu because of his overall game. Ever since I saw Babalu beat my boy Shogun at the IFL tourny I've got all of the respect in the world for him. I'm not going to bet on this fight either way. It's just too damn good...........

Babalu is a cardio muh-cheen! He will NOT be gassing if it goes 5 rounds.
And talk about focus. "Every day I think about Chuck kicking me in the head". I don't know what he'll do if it happens again. He may go postal. ;~))

Cool

This was a good episode of All Access. I am really liking that show. Babalu is the coolest dude in Brazil, LOL. He does it all. I think Rachelle had the hots for Babalu. I bet that they partied pretty hard together off camera. On the beach, Rachelle had that awesome small bikini on -- she was HOT! But, the show was about Babalu (LOL). He does have a great work out system. He named his ground bag "Chuck" after The Iceman. I liked that.
