exactly, he shown little desire to actually win by finishing off his opponents in his last few fights. I guy has shown me no heart in his last few fights. All of his last few losses he could have won if he really pushed himself in those fights.

he has great hands, and his ground game is sick. But he has no desire to finish opponents. I mean its not like he gases. HE had a pretty intense fight with diego and showed no signs of fatigue. But he doesnt have the killer instinct.

I see Neer pulling this out. The guy is very tough and has to be pissed over his loss to Burkman. Both guys have had trouble finishing their fights. Unless Diaz relies more heavily on his ground game, i think he'll lose. I just can't see him winning the standup. Neer by decision.

Diaz needs too win this. He has lost 3 in a row and isnt one of the top 10 at 170 (my opinion). Around this time last year i would have put him in the top 5. This has been a bad year for Mr.Diaz, but mark my words he will submit Neer.

My personal opinion is Nick Diaz will be down in KOTC after this one.

*sigh* i was HOPING Josh Neer would be put up against a somewhat FORMIDABLE opponent this time around. He clearly has the skills for it, but for some reason they're putting him in the octagon with a scrub for his next match.

Or he just his whole game revolves around waiting/hoping, his opponent will make a mistake that he can capitolize on. Which is just a stupid way of fighting.

So inotherwords you're hoping Diaz *MIGHT* get lucky, and connect with a lucky-haymaker again?
Yeah i'll bet he's hopeing the same thing, that he might get lucky, pffft.

Sorry , I seen NEER loseing this fight if Diaz comes into the fight inshape. Im a Neer fan but Diaz may have losses on his record but they was all close fights and some I thought he actually won. Diaz isn't a cump. Neer better be ready. Best luck to the both of them. Diaz is wicked on the ground. Gracie BJJ , ... IMO WarDawg

The more posts you make the more convinced i am that you know nothing about MMA. Nick Diaz has wins over some very impressive opponents. And with the exception of his last three fights he has been known to finish fights and do so impressively. Look at the people he lost to. Diego, Karo, Riggs, Sherk. Tough guys and all by decision, some of them very close. I wouldn't say he's the top of the food chain, but neither is Neer. They are a good matchup for each other, as is Alves. People have bad runs, people lose focus, people get cocky. But Nick Diaz is anything but a scrub.

I wonder how the loses of Diaz affected him, but if Nick Diaz is focused on this fight then he will become victorious.

Diaz may have been 'lucky' with the punch that knocked Lawler out, but he was winning the fight way before that even happened. Throughout the fight you could see Robbie getting frustrated and angry that Nicks game plan was getting the better of him.

totally agree with above statement. i hope diaz comes ready to fight, but when last minute changes happen like this its hard to predict an out come.
Diaz is raw entertainment and a good well rounded fighter. He is a great representation of what mma fighter should be. the man can strike and if the fight goes to the ground hes got skill there too.
like previously stated in other posts...i just hope his past losses have not got in his head. if the losses have given him the hunger to kick some can diaz will hand neer his rear on a silver platter. on the other hand if he is nerved up it could be trouble for diaz.

Honestly, this card is shaping up better then many thought at first. Liddell/Babalu should be very good. Forrest and Bonnar might not be as good as before but will still be decent. This fight with Diaz and Neer will put it over the top. Both of these guys like to talk a lot which always makes things interesting. More importantly they both like to fight. One thing is for sure about these three fights - there will be a lot of swinging instead of waiting like we've seen in previous ppv's. I'll definitely be watching.

while i like the idea of Diaz being back in the UFC i dislike the circumstances involved. i really was looking forward to seeing Alves fight again and to hear is not fighting due to illness, not exactly cause for celebration. i hope Diaz makes the most of this opportunity because if he loses he may never see the inside of the Octagon again.

I agree. Even when fighters take fights short notice they're still accountable. I like Alves better personally but that aside, that's who was training to fight Neer and vice versa. I think that would have been a better fight. I think a lot of people are just happy to see Nick Diaz back in the UFC so soon that they're running on emotion rather than logic. He may have been already training for a fight that fell through but it's still not the same. I'm not even sure if Nick Diaz has ever been knocked out, but i hope he doesn't get rocked or get knocked around the ring for three rounds. I would be really hyped if this was the original fight, but this makes the card worse not better in my opinion.

Well, I hope Diaz wins then. I think he's a pretty good fighter and would hate to see him out of UFC for taking a short notice fight.
