It's either BJ by choke or Hughes by decision. I'll take BJ in this one.
Does that mean, at some point, we'll see GSP v. Diego or Hughes/BJ loser v. Diego - either way that would be yet another test for the Mexican lisp...I mean Nightmare.

I'm tired of hearing BJ is the real champion. If we're going by that math doesn't that make GSP the champion? BJ has all the tools to win, but i don't see him taking this fight. Both want this fight more than anything. Some are saying the fact that BJ beat Hughes will affect him negatively, i think the opposite. Hughes will come into this match possesed. Hughes by kimura probably from half guard. Possibly GnP to rear naked choke.

I'd like to see GSP/Diego and winner fights the winner of BJ/Hughes. And then the losers can fight each other for the shot at the winner if their isn't a rematch.

Hughes by sub, I don't think so.
BJ is far more superior on the ground. If Matt Hughes is able sub Penn I'll change my name to Peter Pan. No way it's not going to happen. At best Hughes can get a decision, and that's at best.
Again let me reiterate, Hughes is a great fighter and I have the utmost respect for him, but I simply can't see him beating BJ Penn.

Penn's far superior to Hughes on the ground and I believe that Penn is better in striking as well. Its going to be interesting in seeing what the odds for this fight are when they are released.

I agree with RockemSockem. It's hard to accept this if you're BJ's fans, but that's exactly what will happen. Hughes was not really into the fight with BJ the first time they fought from the opening bell, it will be a completely different fight this time. The only fighter that has a chance with Hughes at this time is GSP. Diego is getting more solid but still need a little more extra time to have a chance beating Hughes.

Or... it was hard to accept, when BJ dominated your boy Hughes.
And it will be hard to accept, when he does it again.

I think it is going to be a good fight regardless of who wins. Both want to come out and dominate the other. Its a tough break for GSP, he has earned that shot more then anyone. I hope it doesn't take him long to get back into it and get his shot and bring the WW title to Canada. Maybe even get us a PPV from Montreal

its gonna be a great fight, but people who dont like bj just always use the same excuses that hughes didnt go into the fight with the right frame of mind. what a weak excuse, he got beat and beat well, he was dominated for 5 mins before choked out, live with it.

That's a great point, FightFan23. GSP pulling out of this fight means there's a good chance that when he DOES get his title shot, it'll be in front of his hometown fans. Now that the Quebec government has sanctioned the octagon for use in MMA events, there's absolutely nothing preventing it.

Hughes has never knocked anyone out.
Penn has never been KO'ed or submitted, but he has been outworked a couple of times.

He knocked out Carlos Newton in the controversial decision over who won.
I predict ref stoppage by GnP by Hughes.

Yeah, but that's like not a real knock-out is it? Not a Chuck or Rich kind of knock-out.
