I think that Penn will lose to Hughes. I am sad that GSP is now on the back burner. It may be a year before he gets that close to the title again. But, if Hughes beats Penn, then Hughes will prove Penn to be NOT the champion. I just do not think that Penn can repeat what he did in Hughes-Penn 1. It seems like a GSP-Sánchez match will be more likely. Maybe the winner will fight the champion after the winner of TUF4 gets a shot?

Geez,my internet gets disconnected for three days, and when I come back the entire world has changed.
I've been waiting all year for GSP/Hughes.This is the saddest news ever.

yes they do. and if he beats GSP it will be very unfortunate cuz GSP deserved that title shot and to have to face a title worthy opponent before getting another title shot will be unfortunate for him.

The only person GSP should face next is whoever is holding the title at the time he is healthy and ready to take the match. He has, more than anyone else, earned a shot at the title and shouldnt have to face another person untill he gets that title shot.

What?!?!?!? I don't even want to respond to that question. Maybe because Hughes is a 4X All-American wrester and in wrestling you take people down. Maybe you know nothing about MMA so I had to explain that to you. You tell me to watch a GSP fight like I have never seen him fight, the difference b/w me and you is that you are a fan and think that you know alot about MMA and I am a professional fighter and I know I have a lot to learn.

BJ Penn and Hughes
Much more interesting than Pierre Hughes..
I think this will be one of Hughes toughest challenges.. I am hoping BJ Penn wins. Hate seeing guys at the top for so long..
Also Penn seems to me to have better skills. Maybe I am missing something..

I really really like Hughes but he has to beat Penn not win his belt without fighting him.
Penn aint no joke.

And Penn had his chance to get another shot at Hughes but LOST TO GSP. Therefore any claims that Penn is the true and rightful champ are null and void. If Penn still had the title then it's GSPs now.

I'm not sure if I'm particularly excited about this fight or not.
BJ and Hughes are both awesome, and Matt will be looking to avenge his loss, but I was looking forward to the GSP rematch so much that it's hard for me to be amped about this.I will still buy the PPV,but without GSP it will be a somber night of fights for me.
No Silva/Chuck or Matt/GSP,and poor Babalu tanked.Talk about a series of letdowns.

I dont think the timing works. GSP beat Penn after he lost to Hughes. So GSP still has Penn's fictitious belt.

The fact is GSP got his ass kicked by Penn, BUT POINTWISE GSP won..
So, if points is what you want, the decision will go to Hughes.
If it comes down to ass whoopin, its Penn.

GSP did not get his ass kicked by Penn. It was an eye-poke that made GSP have to go in survival mode. But, the last two rounds were GSP all the way. Penn gassed and lacked the will to win when he had the chance to end the fight. Penn lost any claim to any title when he lost to GSP. Now, it's just a revenge match for Matt Hughes and a title defense for Hughes. Penn is just a contender.

Was it really an eye-poke, or just a punch in the eye?

Actually the match won't last long enough for a decision, and the only ass whoopin' handed out will be done by Hughes.
Matt for the win!

*yawn*
You're also dumb as a rock, aren't you.
Having wrestling credentials doesn't mean you're better at takedowns. The difference between me and you is, I have an IQ higher than George Dubya.
