GSP out Penn in!
UFC just announced that Penn will be replacing GSP at UFC 63.
http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=3125
Let the **** begin hitting the fan. Honestly i kinda prefer it this way. I think that GSP is the only person i put on par with Hughes and should he have gone into this fight not near 100% i think he would have lost. I'd rather see him have to work his way back up and have the chance to face Hughes closer to 100%. I see Sanchez vs GSP in the near future.

Yeah, it does suck for GSP. I still would rather see Hughes vs GSP, but Hughes vs Penn will be great as well.
He may have underestimated BJ the 1st time around, but I don't see that happening again. I see Matt winning this fight.

Major bummer on George St. Pierre's part, he's been wanting a rematch with Matt Hughes ever since he lost to him at UFC 50. I do hope that BJ Penn can get into tip top shape for this matchup. Also how is this going to affect Matt Hughes? He's been training to fight someone he already fought and beat, now all the sudden he's got to fight someone that has fought and beat him. What a change of events! Let the mind games begin.

I'm wondering if Georges will get the Karo treatment. Maybe Georges vs. Sanchez before he gets his shot again.

That wouldn't surprise me.

this really sucks, he deserved that title shot...im sure gsp is felling pretty bad right now ..damnit hes really unlucky and Penn is lucky to have this title shot cause he didnt deserve it...i hope Georges will be the next to fight for the WW belt against the winner of Hughes-Penn, if they wanna put sanchez against someone it must be against the loser of Hughes vs Penn
damn i was waiting for that fight since it was rumored...i hope that Hughes beat Penn and then Gsp beat hughes

This really sucks. I think that Hughes vs GSP could have been more highly anticipated then Chuck vs Randy2. Good for Penn, didn't realy earn the shot, but has the history to hype the match up. They better not give GSP the Karo treatment. If GSP is around 75%ish for a fight in October, they should give him a tune up fight, then give him Hughes in UFC 66 or something. No one has worked harder then that man to get the title shot, and thats the last thing we could expect. Give Penn vs Hughes for UFC 63, and GSP vs Hughes for UFC 66.

He did beat Matt once already which is why I'm sure Matt loves this - to clear up the loss and give BJ a good old country ass whuppin.

GSP is injured, that's an inescapable fact. As much as I feel badly for GSP, my overriding feeling is gratitude that Penn accepted this fight. Just think about what happened in the LW division lately, where no one wanted to step up to fight Sherk. Penn has saved the day for UFC 63. This is a fight I'm highly anticipating, and I can't really be too disappointed.

im both dissappointed and excited about this. i really want to see Hughes vs Penn 2 but i really wanted to see GSP vs Hughes 2 aswell. WW division is pretty stacked so any of the top guys fighting each other is good.

I would definitely have preferred to see GSP/Hughes. But I think it's smart of GSP to not risk it at this point. 2 losses against Hughes will not bode well for getting a title shot for a long while. He needs to come in healthy. He is young, he'll get his shot again. Karo on the other hand I think will but just in a couple of years time.

Hell yeah. BJ vs Matt. Im going with BJ . I hope they give GSP, Sanchez . That would be a great fight. Sanchez proved to me he is in the top 5 from his Karo fight. Great match ups. Sweet.................. WD

i like diego, and i like karo... but ive said before neither are champs... BJ, matt, and gsp are WORLD class...... diego is #4 in the WW division and always will be... GSP will run over him by decision or ref stoppage... im not even too interested in seeing that fight..

How is it far different? Karo lost his title shot due to injury, then he was given another fight instead of the next tltle shot. Seems to me it could happen to GSP too?
