Maybe go off the diet 24/48 hours before a fight, to get that needed carb-energy...

All I could do is stare, speechless. Then the mixed emotions....knowing that Babalu could destroy Chuck, wondering why....after so long of waiting for this shot and training so hard, would Babalu let his anger towards Chuck get the best of him. He was on fire and ready, all he had to do was play it smart and wait for the opportunity....instead he rushed in and tried to beat Chuck at Chuck's game. Why Babalu.....WHY!?! Sobral is my idol and favorite fighter. He is a huge part of my inspiration and motivaton for MMA. Right down to everyday life. So I was pretty devastated when he rushed in and got knocked out. And I know that after he got knocked out in his first fight with Liddell...he took it pretty hard. I hope he can brush it off, and come back even stronger. Because, I really look up to him and it wouldn't be the same without him fighting. Well...that's my steam vent. I'm done now lol. Thanks for starting this thread lol.

Are you kidding? He'd have to do all that, plus learn to box about ten times better than he can now. Just being able to absorb punches is not enough of a qualification to become champ, regardless of which weight class he fights in.

not in this case! i agree with that in general but babalu just really blew it... im a huge fan of his and it sucked... he CHOSE to fight chucks fight.. he ran right into him.. so out of character... wasnt looking for any feeling out period which is what he needed to do and really drag out the fight...

Was it out of character? It seems to me he fought Rua exactly the same way, by charging in for the takedown. The difference was, with Rua he got the takedown almost every time.

I wonder if Sobral's strategy was press Chuck, the way Rampage did, by constantly coming at him. Frankly I dont think it would work for Rampage again either.

I was so freakin' mad when Babalu started running toward Chuck pawing in the air like a kitten! I jumped up and started yelling all kinds of insults and "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING YOU STUPID........" Then after Chuck beat him down like a dog that just bit a kid, I was silent and P.Oed to no end. I bet on Chuck to win, but was sure hoping Babalu would pull it off. I can't wait to hear from Babalu as to his thoughts.
