I agree with mepersoner, that Chuck will lose to another striker, if he loses. I don't see Arona beating him, and definitely not Tito beating him.
Wanderlei & Shogun would have a shot, but only one way to find out. I pray that fight happens SOON.

That is sad for Babalu. He did not last as long as Gumby against Liddell. Gumby also did not try to hump Big John's leg. I wish that there was a best of MMA video that put together all the best endings of matches where a fighter grappled with the referee. It is hard for Babalu to say that Big John stopped the fight too early when Babalu was rolling in the Octagon with the referee dressed in long black pants and shoes. A fighter that was fully conscious and awake would know the difference between Big John's pants and Chick Liddell's legs.

I also agree with you guys. It will take a serious striker to dethrone Chuck Liddell. Shogun went down to defeat from Babalu, and so I have doubts about his ability to take on Liddell. Wanderlei was beaten by Tito Ortiz. Tito was demolished by Liddell. I have some doubts about Wanderlei's ability to beat Liddell. Although, Rampage Jackson has beaten Liddell, and Wanderlei has beaten Rampage (Shogun also beat Jackson). It is hard to judge who would win by who they have beaten.

you know that you can look at it that way.. every fight and matchup is different... hard to say chuck demolished tito in the first fight... he did pretty well then put together that amazing combo.. if you wanna talk demolished, id say that rampage demolished chuck till the had nothing left..

Not just any striker, but one who has really good straight boxing.I think Wandy and Shogun could beat Liddell, they are the best strikers on the planet as far as I'm concerned, but I think Lil Nog would be the toughest match up for him.

People who can beat Chuck:Wandy,Shogun,Belfort,Arona,Rampage,Lil Nog.

That is why I want to see the Iceman-Rampage 2 match like one-hundred time more than any Liddell-Wanderlei or Liddell-Tito 2 matches. But, as the match with Shogun showed (and Bas Rutten agreed), Rampage suffered from his loss to Wanderlei. Rampage took a lot of damage to his ribs, and that has taken a long time to heal properly.

If I recall correctly, Rampage even noted that his ribs were part of the reason for his loss to Shogun. The whole Wanderlei to Ninja to Shogun series of matches were hard on Jackson in late 2004 and early 2005. Rampage has not been impressive in his last three matches. Liddell would likely KO Rampage now.

Rampage's ribs were broken after he fought Shogun.I don't think he ever mentally recovered.

They showed the Rampage-Shogun match on the PRIDE FC show on FSN/CSN a few weeks ago. Bas Rutten talked about how Rampage had taken a severe beating to his ribs from Wanderlei Silva. Rampage then fought Ninja to a decision win, but lost to a KO from Shogun soon after that. My understanding is that Rampage too a beating to his ribs in all three matches.

Wink

Chuck is a very intelligent fighter. Always looking for angles, if the other guys presses he will step back from his range and do what he does best is leave the guys open themselves up and bang counterpunch. All over. Its not rocket science. Whatever was Babalu thinking. I really thought that if he fought a good intelligent fight he would have a great chance especially he's cardio is far superior than Chuck's. And that is chuck's weakness, its his cardio, but getting him to go the distance under pressure well thats everybody's else's problem. To beat chuck you gotta throw a lot of leg kicks, step in and get back out, and just chops away until such time you take the sting out of his punches, then get in there and take him down or do what you do best, but you must get the power out of his punches first. And to be honest Rampage Jackson made him look real ordinary why because he fought an intelligent fight. I do feel for Babalu, really likeable guy and a great mma fighter. Hope he pounches back from this one but this one could be the nail in his coffin because his first fight with chuck hurt him real bad as such.

Hurry back Babalu
