no way this is going to be a good fight.... Matt v. GSP II will be a good fight...

i see matt taking bj down beating out the rest of his hair with Ground and Pound then BJ losing a point for crying... Then i see BJ getting out and running for his life and losing another point... When Big John yells at him he willl then lose another point for crying... and then matt will RNC his ass with out trying... BJ PENN is a joke and has been since day one... the only reason he wanted the fight with Matt the first time was because he cant beat Jens Pulver and wanted a tittle... Matt definitly overlooked bj the first time and will not make that mistake again!

i have not been a fan of Hughes since BJ beat him. However since then Matt has proven to be the incredible force he said he was moments before BJ submitted him. BJ on the other hand has bounced from organization to organization, lost a fight to GSP that he was so convinced he'd win that he looked 2 fights beyond. i think Matt has the ability to beat anyone at 170lbs. and i think its foolish to bet against him. Can he submit BJ? why not, i still remember all the people who thought Royce would submit Matt. technically Matt could have stopped Royce by breaking his arm. Matt is confident without being cocky. he will win and win easily.

Like I said before, if Hughes wins by submission I will change my name to Peter Pan. One must not know who BJ Penn is if he or she believe he will tap out BJ. Penn dominated Hughes last fight and will sub him again, if not, he will win by TKO.

someone actually did call BJ a joke and a loser as well. BJ is neither of those things. at the sametime i think Matt has surpassed BJ in the ability to win. Matt has gotten the job done everytime since BJ beat him. BJ on the other hand could'nt finish GSP, a man he looked right past. BJ almost sounded like Matt when he spoke about GSP and his future in MMA, that he is unbeatable.

I see a repeat of this fight ending the way Hughes/Gracie fight did. Matt will control the fight and win by strikes. Hughes wants to fix his first mistake and Penn knows he was lucky in his first victory. Of course in a fight anything is possible but I can't see Matt getting caught like before.

just so everyone knows i do not jock Matt Hughes i just think he is a good fighter and much better then penn... i watched that first fight 3 times the night it happened in disbelief... i was so taken back that a loser like penn could win that fight... penn has gotten better but Matt snapped and is by far the best in his weight class.... GSP and Matt 2 will be a great fight!
Obviously you cant see through the hype how not that great Royce is...

Yeah, I love that. I wonder if Hughes knows how much of a LOL we get from his now legendary country breakfasts? No one can defeat the country breakfast! It's country breakfast-mania running wild. What ya gonna do?

B.J. Penn only has 3 losses on his record, all of them by Decision as well. I don't see Matt Hughes being able to sub him or winning via ground and pound. Matt has become a better fighter but his gameplan always stay's the same, look for the takedown, ground and pound or get a submission in. His standup is not really that great and looks to get huge slams and ground and pound. If BJ Penn keeps the fight standing somehow he could possibly KO or TKO Matt Hughes. Either way it goes it's going to be a great match and if BJ Penn loses there will be a rubber match.

I agree, if it is close you can almost guarantee a rematch.

I've done alot of thinking, and I have no idea how this fight will go.BJ has never been KOed or subbed.Pulver hit him with one of the nastiest combos ever, and BJ didn't even blink.

BJ is also very hard to takedown, and even harder to keep him there. In an interview Matt said he'd never been hit as hard as when he fought BJ,and in another interview BJ said GSP was profoundly stronger than Hughes and GSP had a hard time keeping BJ down.So BJ might fight a Liddell style fight and just try to bang with Hughes.

Even if Hughes takes him down at will,BJ has one of the sickest guards in town.Does Matt wanna be on the ground with a guy who arguably has the best BJJ ever??

I'm fighting a perpetual battle in my head with who I believe will win.3 hours ago it was Hughes,an hour ago it was BJ,10 min ago it was Hughes, now it's BJ again.

I don't know if I can recall the last time I heard of a draw. Even though the rules of the UFC from ufc.com say that a draw is a possible fight outcome, the rules also say that a KO isn't a possible fight outcome. I have seen so many fights where I think a draw would have made the most sense, but I just don't see it happening any more.

I'll say Hughes by decision. I don't see either of these guys getting submitted, possibly a lucky KO but I doubt it. I see it going to a decision, and Matt with more points racked up from dumping Penn on his ass. I don't see much damage happening to either fighter. Entire fight long battle of clenching on the mat with two extremely frustrated tired fighters

This will be a good fight, my money is on Hughes.
