I almost forgot to mention this about UFC 62....
I saw alot of posts about how the card, and how the ppv was gonna suck, and I think the UFC deserves an apology. I will say that it wasn't one of the best cards, but the fights certainly did not suck. I especially enjoyed seeing Nick Diaz looking sharp, and Kongo. The main events weren't half bad either. Cmon you guys, admit it. It was a decent PPV.

It was actually my third favorite UFC PPV of the year, behind 58 and 57.

The problem I had with UFC 62 is that none of the fights mattered except the main event. I don't just want to see good fights on a PPV. Calling a fight good or bad is totally subjective anyway. I want to see fights that sort out contenders and advance rising stars. No newcomers on the main card, and not more than a couple on the undercard. UFC 63 is MUCH closer to my ideal of a PPV.

For not being nearly a stacked card, I can honestly say i enjoyed it way more then i thought I would. A better card would have been nice but I felt I enjoyed it alot more then expected considering most of the match ups.

No, UFC doesn't deserve an apology. I loved Nick & Hermes' fights and Kongo was alright too, but I want to see the top guys going at it. And subsequently the only fight with really top guys (Chuck-Babalu) was actually a disappointment.
Just because the guys put up good fights, doesn't mean the UFC did something right. The card was still rubbish. Cheap bastards.

well since there is a PPV every single month, its impossible to have the "top" guys go at it... i think they do a great job spreading everything out and get top names on each card... its either that or only have 4 PPVs a year

And they only have about 2 top guys in every weight class. You're right, I'm being a bit hard on them.

I liked all of the UFC PPV events this year. Some have been great, but some have been average. I actually thought it was great that Tito defeated Shamrock so quickly and so dominantly. I did not understand any of that BS booing from the fans -- not in that match, and not in others. I go into watching MMA with the idea that NOT EVERY match will be the greatest match of all time. Some matches are great fights. Some are great performances. Those two concepts do not always go together.
But, also think of it like this: the UFC provided more than just a $40 PPV event in the last two weeks. On August 17th we got UFN-6 for free on Spike TV. And, we also were given two episodes of TUF4 on August 17th and 24th. Then, we have the UFC-62 PPV on August 26th. You can throw in three new episodes of UFC Unleashed as well. That is a lot of quality MMA provided by the UFC in just under two weeks (ten or eleven days I think). Put them all together and then think about the average level of quality.

I was perfectly happy with the event. Not all the outcomes mind you, but all kept my attention w/o fail!

I will agree that they didn't have "top talent" for more than one of the fights. But, as stated earlier, due to the number of events UFC is putting out now, it is impossible to have all the top guys fight so often. I was just impressed with the effort put forth by every fighter this go-around. Usually you see one or two slackers, who gas out early, or just don't give 100%. This PPV I saw alot of guys letting it all hang out. I am honestly looking forward to seeing Diaz and Kongo fight again, due to how impressed I was by their most recent fights.
