Holyfield to Coach TUF 5
I come from Lodi CA and Stockton I train boxing in, down in the ghetto on Flora where all CA legends are made boxing wise, and live in Sacramento, and next year TUF 5 has Evander Holyfield slated to be the conditioning/boxing coach.
Now for those of you who forgot. Evander IS THE LEADER in modern day boxing to innovate conditioning! Heavyweights before Evander relied on strenght only and found out. Oh ****!
They're gonna use him like they did House in seasons I-III, and we'll see how THE REAL DEAL shows also how to condition these lightweights in the house!

If that is true, then that is awesome! Of course, not ALL heavyweights before Evander relied on strength, ALi wasn't that hard of a puncher, and Frasier relied on conditioning more than power to wear down his opponents, but I got the idea.

That's a ridiculous statement, but if you're right about Holyfield working on TUF5, that's interesting and I look forward to it.

if Holyfield is indeed going to be a trainer on TUF5 i hope he sticks to coaching boxing and leaves the aspect of conditioning to someone else. Holyfield is indeed one of the best conditioned heavyweights of all time but i don't think he would know the best ways for a MMA to train conditioning. two differant sports, with two differant demands placed on the bodies energy systems.

I don't know.. It could be true but I don't see the UFC paying $$$ to have a well known fighter like Holyfield as a trainer for their show other then a on off again coach and a simple and costly Publicity stunt.

i agree, it does seem very suspect. many of boxings best trainers were never successful fighters. of course an unknown trainer does'nt have the same name recognition as does a guy like Holyfield. this is an example of, "i'll believe it, when i see it.".

boxing has really dug its own grave and now its lying down in it waiting for the UFC and MMA to cover it with dirt. boxing really is a noble sport with alot of great history, to bad the current promoters of it don't care about the sports future beyond what they can put in thier wallets today.
